Was kicking the idea around of hanging a 1098 motor in my 748, any thoughts? should fit up ok right, so long as you had everything?...

Not crazy but due to the longer 1098 engine you might be seeing tire smoke off
your valve cover during hard braking... you might need to replace the 120/70 with
a 120/60 17 inch lower profile tire which will only make the front a little more hard
and twitchy to control... isn't re-engineering your bike fun???

so if the new motor is too long, then just go with a 999 motor and still get the teststretta heads and some cubes and pretty much end up with a home brew 998?...

I love my "little" bike, and a big motor in a little bike would be fun. Y'all know that I cut things up for a living, and having the new big motor in the old chassis would be the best of both worlds for me. Still think the 916 bike is the most beautiful ever, and I have a special bond with Monica. Besides, it's almost cheaper to buy a low miles motor and upgrade, than to pay some Guido to lay his ham fists on my bike for maintenance. YMMV...
