Converter Unit (CDI)

My RC51 SP2 has had 2 repairs (that I'm aware of) to the CDI Converter unit... Has anyone replaced it with a up to date modern unit.. Its 20 years in design and hopefully theres a more reliable alternative?

A brief search shows Ignitech CZ produce one? Has anyone used it? is it plug and play?
