Cleaning Tires?

What's the best way to clean off your tires if you ride through oil or some other slippery liquid? Especially when it's on the side of the tire?

Busy Little Shop
To remove oil use gas... it's handy and near as your tank... now go out and
navigate inside a 25 ft circle to scrub off the old rubber to new rubber
without risking your prize or your life...
