I've read where it is apparent that cleaners such as simple green and S100 should not be used on CF. I assume normal car wash is okay? Is there anything else that works better? With all the CF being used on the Jap Street rods these days there must be some products out there? Thanks

Re: Cleaning CF (2vtwin)

I use good old soap and water, then I protect it from UV rays with some wax

Re: Cleaning CF (Tifosi)

Treat it like all the painted surfaces on your bike. Use a good UV wax or polish.

Lemon Pledge.

It produces a nice shine, and leaves a film that will make it easy to wash/wax next time.

Or, Honda wax.....

Re: Cleaning CF (section8superbike)

Soap and water on the gel coat. If it is clear coated, treat it as any painted surface.

Re: Cleaning CF (2vtwin)

seeing that this pops up every two to three weeks , and i'm to lazy to do to a search .... In taking care of any top coat or gel coated product , a quality automotive wash soap then followed by a paste wax or detailing sollution should work nice . For protecting a gel coated product a paste wax or simular product that has a built in protectant ( for u.v.) should be used ..

Bingo! That's what Clay Carrier uses to put a finishing shine all of the parts we sell, and what we use to clean any CF if it's dirty/dusty.

I agree with the Pledge furh polish. I use it on the poly carb wind screen to my airplane windows, seems to not attract dust as much. Guess a high quality uv additave wax would be good too. Kinda stuck on furn. polish tho. Toppino Ed
