sburns - thanks. Next year should be very interesting. I'll be Rossi's second-biggest fan now that he is going to Ducati. (Who will be the biggest? Jami.)

MotoGPmatters provided the link for my OP. Interesting comment to me was that Rossi plans to ride 3-4 more years, instead of just 2 as many assume.

Every record of note by the time he retires? Good chance of it.

Will be easy to root for Rossi... when he's gonna bust the balls of his last manufacturer, you can't help but root him on in that endeavor.
Even easier to root for ducati in Mgp cause they won't have a WSBK next year.
All the marbles are right here...
