That the Germans are doing a little ethnic cleansing is shocking to me.

Just read an interview with Tardozzi.
Only things he had to say are these:
"Relationships became stranded a few GPs ago"
"Someone in the BMW management didn't like my approach"
"I've talked to the BMW Motorrad president personally but we both agreed not to push the issue since this would have put him in an extremely tight spot".
He also added that he hasn't signed with the Yamaha WSBK team since "they have their eyes on another man to replace Meregalli".

It would appear the core is issue is money.
Plainly put Tardozzi said to BMW winning a WSBK championship cost A LOT of money and asked for it. He assumed he had been hired to bag the title and set his plans accordingly.
Someone in the BMW hierarchy, presumably someone with little experience of real-world racing, started questioning Tardozzi's "wild spending" thinking they could probably bag the championship for little more than it has cost them to obliterate the opposition in the STK1000 championship. Perhaps they thought he was hiring his chums at inflated rates or pocketing the difference.
Good luck to them winning the championship on a shoestring budget...

If we see a nosedive in BMW results next year, while whatever team Tardozzi ends up running suddenly wins races, we will know who was the difference.

And in a related incident, the BMW factory has rounded up all its Jewish employees, and is holding them in a separate "work oven" untill management decides what to do about "the problem"........

True... 6 WSBK titles didn't come cheap... thats why Honda spent so much on
their dedicated homologated racers RC30 (2) RC45 (1) SP1 (1) SP2 (1) and CBR (1)...

I'm not one to expound political correctness, and enjoy a joke and a lively sense of humor, but having lived in Germany and knowing how the modern Germans feel about their past, that kind of joke is below the belt, IMO.
Not even particularly humorous to me.

YMMV.

How do you feel about the use of the word Jap to describe K/Y/H/S bikes?:woot:

Isn't it convenient now that the whole era is looked down on so much, the families of all those who benefited from or committed the acts NOW want to distance themselves from it all? If my father was Bernie Madoff, I'd EXPECT to be ridiculed and spit on for the rest of my life. Expecting everyone to let you off the hook for your families' bullshit is nothing short of being retarded and shortsighted. Your parents and grandparents let it happen, so just cope with the stigma.

I didn't comment on the oven joke, I just figured that was Rocky being Rocky. But to imply that because many Germans feel bad about the atrocities committed by their countrymen somehow makes them immune to any sort of jokes or criticism is laughable. As a country, they deserve to be the subject of snide comments for as long as we live.

There were too few willing to fight the National Socialism party early in the 1930's. Hitler said exactly what he planned to do in Mein Kampf. Even throughout the war, the Germans were complicit in the crimes against their conquered masses. Most were fine with it because they were going to be the beneficiaries of a European land mass cleaned out of all "inferior" peoples.

EDIT: Jami changed to Rocky.

You're entitle to your opinion, Burns. Ludicrous as it seems to me.

Be very careful of what you wish for.

This is a motorcycle forum, and not the place for a lengthy political debate, so I will say this once...and then be done with this topic. I see ignorance and incredibly self-righteous indignation being expressed here, when this is very definitely a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Your own fore-fathers have their own little genocide and slavery to contend with, right here in America. You see, with the demise of tens of millions of native Americans over 400 years, most through European born desease, but also murder and killing and resettlements....and the enslavement of hundreds of thousands of Africans to your forefathers......you, sir, are welcome to a whole bunch of spit and ridicule heaped on YOU.

Just has almost ANY nation on earth. Very few nations are free from our respective past. As a white-skinned South African.....I know that only too well myself.

The apparent dismissal of your own large-scale genocide right here in America...is the most amazing thing of the lot, in some posts in this thread.

So....you are not free of ridicule and spit yourself, using your own terms.

Which is my point. The best we can do is.....to recognize the past, learn to understand what happened and why, and commit to never, EVER, duplicating the mistakes our our own forefathers...and learn to NEVER forget. That is all we can ever do.

Just as modern Germans have done, or Japanese, or any of many nations with such a past. Hopefully, also Americans.

So, get over your self-righteous indignation.

I'm done with this.

On to more appropriate topic...the original.

BMW is ****ing stupid to get rid of Tardozzi. I can only assume there is more than meets the eye. We'll see how they progress/regress in the future, with the shake-up.
