Battery acid on frame?

I am sourcing a frame for a 748 project. The frame I am looking at had battery acid spilled on it. Would that affect the metal or pit the metal? Or cause the powder coat to not stick or show pitting in the metal? Or would I be able to refinish the frame to a good finish after stripping and sanding? Thanks

it should not have pitted a chro-moly frame. aluminum maybe but since this is a Duc site that should not be the case. stripping and powder coating should cover it up completely.
