Maybe they can throw piles of their spare money at the MotoGP problem and get it fixed?

Audi to announce Ducati acquisition next week?

According to at least one unnamed source, Audi's purchase of Ducati is as good as done. Reuters reports that Audi has taken a good hard look at Ducati's books and found "no major stumbling blocks."

Another source says Ducati's largest shareholder, Investindustrial, has agreed to discuss the cyclemaker's sale to no one but Audi.

Volkswagen's annual shareholder meeting is April 19 and an announcement concerning Audi's purchase of Ducati could come before then. Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera has reported that Audi's bargaining exclusivity rights will expire April 15, at which point Investindustrial will then be free to shop around for a Ducati buyer.

If Rossi stays with Ducati in 2013. I could easily see him behind the wheel of an Audi prototype at Lemans next June. Just for fun of course ;)

ducati has done pretty damn well for themselves, they are becoming ever more aligned with the mentality ferarri has created in consumers over the years. they just need to keep creating absurd and unique exotics so rich people can keep their status symbols up. they are well designed aesthetically, and thats what sells status symbols.

Sounds like this comes from some sniveling, poor, socialist.

I'd love a new Ferrari and a new Panigale, and am not rich.
And looks are only a part of it, for me. Looks are the fluff on top.
(Besides, any number of top sportscars is WAY better looking than a 458.)

For me, an Italia and a Panigale in the garage and you can call me anything you want as I light my Cuban cigar with $100 bills (Monopoly money that is).

I'd still rather have a M3, they're the bestest car out there, especially when you are doing 50 in a 35.
They're fantastic cars here in the cold North for only 8 months a year. Then, the Audis and Suburus come storming past. :)

Give me an M3 or 911 for summer, and an S5 for winter and I'd be happy as a pig in shit. Or, perhaps, a 911/4 for all year.

You guys are drunk . The 458 is stunning . The 911 is an ass-heavy , anachronistic fashion statement ; it's still made of steel , right ? Palease .

P.S. What's there not to like ?
looks good in black.
because that downplays the funky looking headlight/body interface. Try a yellow one....ugly as hell.

But I'd still take it. :)
