Arai Quantum vs. Arai Quantum II

I know this isn't directly Ducati related, but it's time for a new helmet and I'm trying to decide which version of the Quantum I'd like to buy. Anyone have any experience with both helmets? How does the Quantum II compare with the original?
The Quantum II is about $75 more than the original Quantum, and I'm just trying to decide if it's worth the money!

I have had both and the Q2 is basically just bigger holes in it for ventalation, and i dont remember if you can change the top pad out like the Q2.

well maybe the fact that BCM just posted a clearance of quantums and some other helmets that might help you decide.

I believe the liner in the QII is removeable whereas the liner in the Q is not.

Biggest difference I noticed was that the Quantum II was noticably lighter than the Quantum-f.

I spoke with an Arai rep. Apparently, they were surprised at the success of the slightly oval shaped Astral, and the Q-II has that shape rather than the older, rounder Q-f.

The RR7 still has the round shape; the Astral and now Q-II are not as round, but not as oval as the Signet. I tried one on last week, and liked it; I currently use the Astral.

Thanks for the replies guys...

I ended up buying the Quantum I from BCM- hard to beat $250!!! Especially since the price of Quantum II's are $380... I've owned one before, and was very happy with it. Thanks again.
