any ideas for this problem

95' 900 ss..transmission makes clicking and grabbing when accelerated heavy through 1st and 2nd any ideas what the problem may be??? Yesterday was doing 120 on freeway and the bike completely bogged out and died ...im guessing to much fuel for the second problem?
