On page 5-77 of the manual it states the Air INjection system. This consists of a canister with two small hoses. One goes to the front throttle body and the other to the selanoid valve mounted the clutch side radiator.

What is this and what does it do?

I am in the process of removing the PAIR system, which I'm good with. If I can remove this...why not.

I do not see what this does, except add air to the front throttle body. It is not hooked up in any way shape or form to the fast idle (as that is just a slide on the throttle rack.

Thanks.

That would be the "flapper mod". That canister and valve use vacuum from the throttle bodies to open the flapper in the snorkel. That is how i see it working anyways.

My bike already had the flapper taken off, but the valve and canister were still there. Pull that crap off, just be sure to plug or cap it off so you don't have a vacuum leak.

Thanks... I just couldn't see what it did. Reason.... when I bought my bike it already had the flapper valve done. Well...half-assed anyways. They just plugged the hose end with a wood screw. :banghead

Just goes alone with the other "mods' done to the bike as well. I've pretty much torn it down to the frame and motor and I'm fixing/doing everything how it should. Found the radiator wasn't fully mounted, random missing screws, random replacement bolts (not the right ones mind you) and other crap.
