It might be a stupid question but why do you have the clips on the bolts for the safety wire. Why dont you just safety wire direct bolt to bolt? Looks like it would be a easier and safer option.

Sort of makes sense but it only takes a minute to make a safety wire. I dont think that it looks very safe. I am of course seeing it as an aircraft engineer so I am a bit biased towards better sorry then safe or was it the other way aroundfor speed and convenience at the track, when you might be swapping wheels/tires 2-3+ times over a weekend.
