for speed and convenience at the track, when you might be swapping wheels/tires 2-3+ times over a weekend.

Sort of makes sense but it only takes a minute to make a safety wire. I dont think that it looks very safe. I am of course seeing it as an aircraft engineer so I am a bit biased towards better sorry then safe or was it the other way around :)
