·I have had my 999 for a few months now, and noticed something that I thought other owners might be able to help me with.
Before I start the bike the displayed voltage ranges between 11.9 and 12.2 volts. 12.2 would be after a longer ride, turning the key off for some time, then restarting. Less than that would be after a few shorter trips that I usually take. Normally it is 12.0. The bike always has enough juice to start (sometimes just enough). I wonder if the battery is nearing the end of its life (2+ years old). After starting the alternator rises the voltage to 14.1 as expected.
So the question is: in normal use what voltage do you usually have displayed before hitting the starter button?
Thanks in advance.
