This is the procedure I am using, is this correct?

- roll the motor until the belt marks align
- remove the cam belts and set the cams to tdc compression
- check the clearances, measure the shims
- set the opener clearance at .003
- Start with a thick closer shim and sand until I get a free rolling cam and just a bit of clearance more than .003 - will just accept .0035
(This would give a closer clearance less than the smallest feeler guage -.0015)
Is this correct?

Hey Dan,

What he said. You check each cylinder's valves at THAT cylinder's TDC. Then take off the belts. But there's more to read on Lance's and my sites...
