This is the procedure I am using, is this correct?

- roll the motor until the belt marks align
- remove the cam belts and set the cams to tdc compression
- check the clearances, measure the shims
- set the opener clearance at .003
- Start with a thick closer shim and sand until I get a free rolling cam and just a bit of clearance more than .003 - will just accept .0035
(This would give a closer clearance less than the smallest feeler guage -.0015)
Is this correct?

Re: 2v valve adjustment question (Speeddog830)

Hey Dan,

What he said. :) You check each cylinder's valves at THAT cylinder's TDC. Then take off the belts. But there's more to read on Lance's and my sites...
