The shape of the season...

So with last weeks testing and looking at how close Dovi was on a new bike to Stoner, and with Pedro's engine failure, It tightens things up just a bit. Yamaha could win the season quite honestly. And with the unknown reliability of the new motors, Honda could possibly tank a potentially great season over mechanicals?...

See! All the consolidation of the forum has caused you to misplace this thread in the "announcments" forum. We're doomed!

Are you saying the Yamaha has been developed by Lorenzo to the point the satellite bikes can win? Cuz "he can't develop a bike" according to everyone here.

Dovi might have been a bit complacent on the Repsol Honda. There have been a few times where he has been passed late in a race. Passes that a true championship contender would never have allowed. I might have thought it was conditioning or unreported injury in the past. He always seemed a bit soft, but that kight be changing.

However seeing that he is getting along well with the Yamaha, it appears he is capable of pretty good speed, at least in testing. This is also while recovering from an injury.

No doubt he realizes that his career may have peaked unless he changes something and rides his butt off this year. Very few riders go from factory to sattelite and then back to factory. Dovi could be one of the exceptions.

He will put pressure on Spies this year, and will thoroughly show up Crutchlow. If Ben has a tough year, I could easily see him replaced for 2013 on the factory squad.

Also remember that Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Hayden, and Rossi are all out of contracts at the end of 2012. Could be an interesting silly season in a few months.
