A search for what set off pet pit bulls' lethal attack - SFGate

Choking back tears, the mother of a 12-year-old boy killed by his family's pit bulls called Friday's fatal mauling an accident involving "happy, friendly pets" that had never acted violently before.
"We never trained them to do any kinds of vicious things. ... This is just a devastating tragedy," said Maureen Faibish, the morning after her son Nicholas was attacked while home alone in their Sunset District apartment.

160 goats dead in French Camp after pit bulls attack | news10.net

Mayar said as many as six pit bulls attacked his livestock early Monday. At least three other people who saw their own animals attacked said those dogs were pit bulls.
"Most of the goats have injuries to their necks," Mayar said. "Limbs were missing, torn legs, their throats were cut. It was just a horrible scene. It was a massacre."

We've banned them over here, although I'm still of a view it's the owners not the dog most of the time. Still wouldn't trust one bred for one reason.
I'm sure you'll get loads of replies saying how it's a right of freedom to own own one.

Had the opportunity to take one in (a mix / stray) and passed. He never did anything but knowing their reputation, not knowing the history of the dog and more importantly its training, and having a young nephew over all the time I couldn't trust it. TBH had I known the history I would have passed; the dog is simply too powerful to stop if it makes its mind up to attack and my nephew is more important than anything in the world to me.

The unfortunate thing is a significant number (small or large, it doesn't matter it is all in the perception) of a-holes who own these dogs making it hard for the responsible owners who have them. These dogs are always associated with dirtbags (gangs, drug dealers, wife-beater wearing punks) and the people who have them and who are responsible suffer.

Ultimately people (family) matter more to me than pets and those who chose the other way around need to get their priorities in line or spend some time on a farm like I did growing up and realize the pecking order.

Sometimes it's the owner and the Pit Bull.
Sometimes it's just the Pit Bull.

They are unpredictable, they are strong, they are fast, they are lethal.
They should be illegal. Same thing goes for a few other breeds that have centuries of fighting bred into them.

While I'm at it, many exotic species should be illegal.
Pythons, for instance. People get tired of them and let them into the wild where they reproduce and nuke native species.
Tiger fish is another great example. If they had never been brought here they wouldn't now be ravaging the waters off the east coast with no natural predators to keep them in check.
Humans suck in so many ways. Some of us don't even realize it. Double suck.

Yeah, right. Anyone who fears a Chihuahua is a pussy. I can kick a Chihuahua across the room. A Pit Bull could take my foot off given enough time.
D- for effort, doctor.

What kind of little man wants a dog that others fear?

Two llamas killed in Ukiah pit bull attack | PressDemocrat.com

“It was just pure carnage,” said his wife. “When I went out there, one of the llamas only had eyes left on her face.”

Those darned Chihuahuas.

sus, you wouldn't be guntarded too, would you?

Using tags on the deceased dog, authorities tracked down an address for the owner about a quarter mile away.

In a rambling interview, Bier (the dogs owner) argued both that his dog is too sweet and gentle to behave so viciously, and that a human can't be held liable for the thoughts and actions of a dog.

Why is it that some humans are so unwilling to accept reality?
Remember the supporters of O.J.?
How about the supporters of Jody Arias?
The followers of Jim Jones?
On and on, people cannot face reality.
It's the killers, it's the dogs, and sometimes it's the people and the dogs.
Who needs them? Insecure men do.

BTW, Pitbull is a singer and it's capitalized. Pit Bull is a dog breed and it's capitalized too. I just learned that.
That's half of why I do this posting BS. I learn about things I always wondered about and I learn how ridiculous my fellow man is. It's a never-ending process...and then we die.
