John McCain

He's attacking Susan Rice for two reasons:
One, she went after him hard when he ran for president. He's still butthurt over that. A sore loser.
Two, he, and Republicans in general, fear her. She's one sharp cookie. She's on the rise. She could even be our first female president one day...maybe. This is the GOP's pre-emptive strike.

On another forum one member had this to say about John:
John McCain is now officially a POS....
I spent nine years in the Navy, and was on the U.S.S. Enterprise in the Gulf of Tonkin when McCain flew to the Philippines from Vietnam. I respect his comportment during his captivity, but it wasn't "heroic" it was typical of the 600 odd guys who were captured. But otherwise he's nothing but a "legacy" who rode his father and grandfather's military mojo to climb above his level of ability for his whole life.

A poor student and disciplinary problem in high school, he somehow got appointed to Annapolis. A poor student and disciplinary problem there, he still graduated and was assigned to flight training, not the norm for the bottom of the barrel. He crashed a plane in flight training, but they didn't wash him out. He borrowed another plane for a weekend trip, but crashed it, but still got an overseas assignment to flight duty. He went to Vietnam and got shot down and captured, sat it out, and then came home and abandoned his injured wife, married money, and then was either disabled or not disabled, depending on his needs. Most of the seriously disabled were retired, yet he continued on active duty for a decade or more, was returned to flight status, and THEN was apparently 100% disabled.

He's sitting in Congress saying "no" to money for veterans, government funded health care and other social programs although he's collecting his 100% disability, tax free pension, Social Security, and a $187,500 annual Congressional salary.

He's an example of one of the things that are wrong with our society.

When he was in the Hanoi hilton and the VC learned he was the son of an Admiral, they offerred to release him. This would hve been a shrewd PR move by them because then they could have sat back as the world commented that "the admiral's son got preferential treatment". McCain, despite being beaten and mistreated on an almost daily basis and nursing serious injuries from his crash and captivity agreed to the release only once all the pilots captured before him were released.

That takes gigantic balls, whether he got a flight assignment due to family connections or not.

He is a true war hero any way you spin it.

Correct. That was an admirable thing. But like Paul Harvey used to say: Now you know the rest of the story.

Turd, you can't be as dumb as your post suggests. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are only trying to stir up shit here...

Your generosity exceeds your stubborness...once.

I think John may be trending senile.
That or he's playing politics.
