It's Official

It’s official: 2012 warmest on record - Metro - The Boston Globe

The news continues a dramatic warming trend in the mainland United States: Seven of the nation’s 10 warmest years have taken place in the past 15 years, according to
NOAA. Last year’s average temperature of 55.3 degrees Fahrenheit beat the previous 1998 record by 1 full degree, a dramatic increase in climate data where records are often broken by far smaller amounts.

NASA/Marshall Solar Physics

Reading for stumps (suggestion: pick the "basic" explanation):
Solar activity & climate: is the sun causing global warming?

Funny thing, but just now an image came to mind of little men on bikes with their tails between thier legs.

Deniers and their lying chickenshit propoganda. It's no wonder why conservatives can only win in off-year elections. They are today's fringe. Hah, hah. How's it feel to be the new weird?

BTW, god sucks, Jesus blows and Muhammad squeels. Have a nice day.

Gee, I miss the dolts who are in hiding.
Dunno, but maybe they choked on sand.
How embarrassing.
Boo, hoo.

Loving life here. Nice and warm outside.

Another Nail

Global warming is epic, long-term study says - CNN.com

If not for man-made influences, the Earth would be in a very cold phase right now and getting even colder, according the joint study by Oregon State University and Harvard University.

So the silver lining on this is that global warming has possibly made it better on Earth for us.
But what about the Earth that comes after us. That's the problem. A whole lot of greed evidenced by todays peoples. Not very wise either. But at least we're warm.

NASA - Amplified Greenhouse Effect Shifts North's Growing Seasons

In the last 30 years, the Arctic ice sheet has shrunk by 1.5 million square miles (about the size of India, France and Italy combined). Between 2011 and 2012 alone, it shrunk by 386,102 square miles (about the size of Texas and Arizona combined) . These changes, as far as cycles of climate on earth, are "accelerated" by several hundred, likely thousands of years, by the best estimates from scientists studying the earth climate cycles.(worldpolicy.org)

http://www.worldpolicy.org/journal/spring2013/map-room

but overall, theres nothing to worry about folks, go about your business, itll all go back to normal as soon. Heck! its not even happening anyway right!

Here in Melbourne we have just had plus-30 degrees for 9 days in a row, which is a record.

I don't know if we are experiencing human-made global warming or not, but it seems like a good idea to be taking out some kind of insurance policy - like trying to reduce our impact on the planet.

I wonder if the deniers have insurance on their homes, cars and bikes.

Another Nail - Running Out Of Room

"We found over 4,000 studies written by 10,000 scientists that discussed whether recent warming is mostly man-made," Richardson said, "and 97 percent answered 'yes.'
Tom Zeller Jr.: Scientists Agree (Again): Climate Change Is Happening

This is consistent with past studies.
BTW, anecdotally, I'm 54 and this is the first spring I can remember when no frost control was needed on wine grapes. Not that anecdotal stories matter much.

400 ppm, Here We Come

Carbon dioxide in atmosphere did not break 400 ppm at Hawaii site - latimes.com

399.89 ppm
Getting higher and higher.

I remember learning about the greenhouse affect in high school science class, circa 1976. There was no questioning the science behind it then. So, what's changed?

What's changed is, polluters perceive a threat to their ability to pollute and they now have armies of lobbyists with laws allowing them to misguide governmental policy. The system is corrupted by special interests, in case anyone hasn't noticed. Greed and corruption: the two downfalls of civilization.

And I come back two years later and we still have people who believe the Earth is warming, who believe CO2 levels in the atmosphere are increasing, who believe sea level is rising, who believe the arctic ice mass is decreasing, and who believe the "numbers" being released by NASA/NOAA/GISS/ETC.

Man Made Global Warming is settled science alright. The biggest fraud ever perpetuated on Earth's population.

It's even funnier the knuckleheads positing of the doom and gloom here are contributing to the cause by creating greenhouses gasses through the use of huge amounts of expended fuel needed to generate electricity used to run the networks, servers and the computers world wide, required to read their BS.

Basically the same as All Gore flying his jet around to preach the hazards of global warming.

All of that is supposed to be ignored, as they are here to save the planet!

Unless you are completely off the grid, walk for transportation barefoot or on shoes you made yourself out of freaking palm leaves and wood (this includes clothing), didn't use any fossil fuels to build, power, heat or cool your home (this includes the manufacture of solar panels, batteries plastic or metal pipe for geothermal heat, manufacture and delivery of all processed materials needed to build ANYTHING), you are also part of the problem.

Basically, unless you are living the life of a woodland creature with nothing to your name but what you can gather from your naturally occurring surroundings, you are a enormous hypocrite jumping on the global warming bandwagon, not to mention a pawn of those who are profiting from it.
