Tell me about it, they seem really lame. I place an order for a pair of boots, $76 including shipping. The website shopping cart showed this amount until I had already entered my credit card info and hit submit. Only after the order had been submited was I told that I was charged $251 and not $76. So I send them an email asking WTF? This was their reply...

The quantity of the boots we were selling at 68.75 has sold out, the ones we are now ordering are regular retail at 251.99

Sorry guys. If had known I wouldn't have forwarded the info. I appologize. I know it's not my fault per say, but you placed an order cause I sent the link. Those fuggers.

Way to go, dhd! And here I was going to use the rest of the money I would have saved to help starving 3rd world racers. Think of the poor racers, man. The POOR RACERS!

DHD, sorry that 'Thanks for letting me know.' was not directed at you, but to the Nate Rockett guy. I appreciate the heads up. A spare pair of boots would have been nice (especially at that price) but are not needed. It is not your fault in any way shape or form. Sorry for making it seem like I was pissed at you, not the case at all. I'm not really pissed I just find it funny. I have always heard of the bait and switch but that is the first time I have had it pulled on me.

If this is not the 100% valid reason to call your CC company and refuse the charges ... then I dont know what is.

Guys, i dont think we're talking simple mistake by the vendor here.

I am pretty positive that if you receipt at order time shows $76 charge, it's HIGHLY ILLEGAL for them to charge your CC for any more than that.

I think you all should seriously consider informing your CC companies about this fraudulaent transaction, because that is what this is.

Yeah that is the problem. Both the receipt I got after I submitted and the one that was emailed to me showed the $251. But the whole time up until I clicked that submit button the price was $76. So I did not have a copy of a receipt listing $76 but only $251. But it is not a big deal cause there is not $251 available on that card and I told them as such. And I don't currently see any charges on the card in question.
