What are you gonna use the bike for? 00-01 have stiffer frame and swingarm which in case of RC51 is actually not a good thing. If you want to track it seems like SP-2 is a better choice.

I have one of these on my rat51, it's pretty darn light. The mounting bracket is a bit on the weak side despite the fact that it's quite thick, other than that no complaints - recommended!

FWIW I have a stock fueled SP1 with a single-side slip-on and shorter gearing, and I'm entirely comfortable riding it around city streets and highways. Not so much on the track since it's not set up...

FWIW the ones on my bike were clean in a few spots while the rest of the top of the airbox was dirty as hell. So the rubber may prevent weird noises and plastic rubbing against the tank.

Yea that's better for you safety too so a good idea to get used to. Whenever you get to the track it's going to be useful also since you can't brake and blip throttle for downshifts without this...

Learn to ride with keeping one or two fingers on the brake lever most of the time. That way you can stabilize your throttle hand against something on the bike and not against your body that bobs...
