Radiator Coolant Bottle Location

Hi.

I have not found a straight answer for this. And I have searched pretty hard. And if have missed it in these forums I apologise.

I want to relocate the coolant bottle on a BMW G 650 X. I want to put it lower than the original location.
I understand that it works on pressure changes to suck the coolant back into the radiator. But, does it matter where on the bike the bottle is located. Could it be underneath the bike? (Not doing that, but just giving an extreme example)
Anybody who has a solid answer would be greatly appreciated. I've read too many untested and vague theories.

Thank you. Jens
