Thanks. I would show your passenger the rear seat before making a purchase. That thing is about the size of a postage stamp.

Thanks!

I had it out at the track on Thursday as a backup to my 250. It was a blast even with the high bars. Was able to get comfortable enough this time to get a knee down in the first of two sessions I had it out there.

Although the RC was fun on the track, the 250 is about 10x as fun. It feels like I'm on a damn bicycle out there. The thread for the 250 can be found here: Free Motorcycle! - PNW Riders

I don't know about your bars, but mine are hard mounted all the way to the forks. Maybe the monster's are rubber mounted?

I didn't really notice much of a difference in feedback. I did notice that everything is amplified since the grips are so much further out from the pivot point. Of course it is also harder to get off the bike and down low in corners. I also wasn't that comfortable being on a new track, first time in over a year, and pretty much a new bike. I didn't build this for the track anyways. I have my 250 for that. This is mainly going to be my streetbike.

b.miller123 Not really an update, but it is all together and rideable. So I did what anybody else would do and took it to the track. I can say that it is like being on a completely different bike. Nowhere to hide at 150mph. But I didn't build this for a trackbike anyways. Was still fun to get back out there.

#1) Again, I'm impressed, Awesome Job so far!..
Hey: By any chance, was I the one who posted up the VIPER when You saw it for the first time? LMAO

#2) FWIW: I actually Love the CBR tail on the Viper!

OH Yeah, (Sorry IF I missed this But I'll ask anyhow) Have you settled on a tail section OR... are you still up in the Air?
Because I know which I choose for it in a HEART BEAT!

Peace Jeff
I'm still up in the air. I'll probably try the cbr tail and see if I like it. I've got the bike rideable for the time being and I will probably tear it down this winter. I still have to do all the rewiring and relocating. I am going to get the frame and swinger coated, possibly the wheels too and it will need paint once I am done with the bodywork. I like the simple black/blue of the viper, but I don't want to outright copy it. So I might go crazy and coat the frame red and do black bodywork.

TLRSKUNK send me your cell number and I will send you a pic of my cracked tail. I have a guy that will repair it and can paint it for you or you can do that on your own.

I did take a quick stab at the starter this weekend, but it was around 2am and I didn't want to wake up the family. It actually wasnt as loud as I expected, I didn't give it much gas though.

I just need to spend a little more time on it and I should be at least able to ride it soon. Hopefully the nice weather will hold out. (wtf am I thinking? This is Washington)

Amen to that.

I don't think I'm as averse to gold as you are, but I really like the black rotor carriers, looks sharp.

Haha, sorry but gold colored stuff has always just looked tacky to me. Although, it didn't bother me enough to buy a different shock.

If possible, this winter I am going to pull all the gold colored engine covers and get them powdercoated or ceramic coated. I'll probably do the oil pan too. I'll have to do a valve check and pull the frame off to get coated too. Might as well do it all at once. It all depends on finances as right now my wife is having trouble finding a job.

b.miller123 Teaser shot of the cans:

b.miller123 Small update for now. Got the coolant overflow bottle mounted, and the titanium cans came in, so it is rideable other than exhaust hangers and getting it registered and plated. I think I'll just make some hangers with some aluminum flat stock since the exhaust isn't heavy at all. I still have to figure out the ignition, I still want to do an RFID keyless ignition, but that will have to wait until I tear it down again for a complete rewire and move everything around.

I did get the chance to a few things. I scored a set of brand new front brake rotors off a 06 or 07 CBR1000RR. They are a direct swap with the only difference being the thickness of the rotors. They increased the RC rotor thickness on the SP2 model to battle warping issues, so hopefully these won't do that. If it happens, I can always use the stock rotors.

I mainly did this just for looks, as I absolutely ****ing hate gold shit. If I had the money, I would tear down the Íhlins rear shock and anodize it black. I also installed some black caliper brackets that I have been holding onto for a while.

$85 of goodness:

Old rotor, ugly gold anodizing:

New black rotors:

What the ugly ass stock gold calipers and rotors used to look like:

All together now:
