Hrc (un)obtanium suzuka tailights

Well, the old saying, "patience is a virtue", has certainly paid dividends here.
Feast your eyes on these pieces of HRC "supposed" unobtanium.
I snaged these a couple of weeks ago.
I probably paid way too much for them, but, when you're hunting down HRC factory specific parts, that were only available to the factory teams at the Suzuka 8HR, you just have to bite the bullet and go for it.
I hope you enjoy the pics.
Cheers.

JBs_SP3 08-09-2011 03:15 AM

Nice score Nick! So is that tail and brake lights integrated into 1 LED cluster?

rvtjonny 08-09-2011 03:17 AM

 Nice...

20_RC51_00 08-09-2011 03:22 AM

That is awesome! now to try and duplicate them....:D

AKDMA 08-09-2011 03:25 AM

Wow, those look really cool. Can't wait to see them installed. (you are installing them right?)

whitw wings 08-09-2011 03:39 AM

I am sure there are better pics of these taillights but here is this one!

AKDMA 08-09-2011 04:14 AM

Thanks!! I just tried to find some on google images. Those look incredible.

b.miller123 08-09-2011 04:17 AM

Quite the coincedence as I was just pondering how I am going to make a set of those just minutes ago......

http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...1/IMG_0014.jpg

Would you mind taking some measurements for me? I know that the dimensions will be off some due to those going on the tail that has the higher hump, but they would help me greatly. It's hard to get the look just right going from pictures that aren't very up close.

I hope somebody does do a run of these integrating tail, stop and turn signals. I'd like to replace the stock ABS undertail altogether, use one of these ones from Brett and relocate the lights in the tail fairing.

Ah yes, i'm still working on my endurance ductail.
My friend actually has some of the LED arrangement in a mock up.
We're just going through some of the testing stage at this time. Checking brightness and visual aspects.

AKDMA 08-09-2011 05:00 AM

Wow, that looks amazing.

Whenever you can get the chance, I would like some measurements. I am in no hurry as I am still gathering materials, and have no time to do much anyways.

I can do that for you.
But i'll be quite honest, when i did my intial cut outs, a lot of it was exactly how you're doing it in your picture.
Give me till tomorrow, and i'll post them up.

cbrbear 08-09-2011 05:12 PM

The best i can offer you is what i've been working on for the last few years. You'll see here my version/attempt to try and replicate/offer an alternative.
https://www.speedzilla.com/forums/rc51-general-discussion/33605-who-knows-who-made-where-get.html

However, i will be looking into possibly trying to replicate these endurance tailights, now that i have a set, but i'm not promising anything in the near future.

Careful what you wish for, as sometimes, prices on these things can get quite scary.
Here is an example for you.
The current price of my version of the endurance ductail, without the clear lenses and the LED's, will set you back $500AUD.
Add the clear lenses, $100.
Price on the LED's: Unknown at this time, as you have to work on price per LED, which can vary greatly depending on the how strong a light emission you want.

poolboy706 08-10-2011 03:56 PM

that is alot!

5.4 speedster 08-10-2011 05:20 PM

i dont care. If you can replicate them I will take two sets

Wish I had a set of those! Very nice find!

A couple years ago I created a half-assed set with that in mind.

Hi everyone.
I know it's been a while, but this is how things go sometimes.
I've finally mounted the tailights and placed the ductail on the bike for fitting purposes.
Enjoy the pics.
Cheers.

Overload..overload.. haha, very nice man. One of the coolest RCs I've ever seen. Are you thinking of upgrading your wheels?

5.4 speedster 10-06-2011 12:48 AM

I want I want.

Seriously

I want

vtwin92 10-06-2011 01:51 AM

Why the hell did it not come like that from the factory!?

b.miller123 10-06-2011 01:53 AM

Wow, They look great on there! That exhaust is crap though, I'll send you address and take it off your hands for you.

Oh, and I still need some dimensions if you are able. Mainly just the length from the 90 degree corner to the rear tip and side tip. I'm graduating in December, so I will finally have some time to tinker with things.

Too expensive for a mass produced bike, and they wanted the square light to continue on from the RC's. Marketing at its finest.

20_RC51_00 10-06-2011 02:53 AM

looks great.! any pics with the lights on in day light and in the dark?

vwhelmot 10-06-2011 09:42 AM

Thanks for the compliment.
I've got a set of ex-factory Marchesini's on the way.

Actually, this exhaust is being a little difficult, as the fitting is so precise coming up past the swingarm.
I have some clearance issues to deal with first before i finally put it all together. I'm also sorry i havent sent you those measurements. I will get to it. I promise.

Sorry, no pics yet. They do work and look pretty impressive.
I've spent most of the time just getting the ductail and lights to fit as perfectly as possible.

Not quite.
This is actually the TSR HRC Replica system.
It is truely a work of art.
The fit is perfect, in fact, to perfect.
When this system was built, they intended for this system to fit an SP-2 with an OEM rear shock.
As you can see in the pics, my rear shock is an Ohlins, and the crossover pipe is actually hard up against the gas cartrige. ( I'll have to get a better picture)
The rear shock is coming out this weekend, and i'll be taking it to my suspension guy, where he'll de-gas the shock, so then i can machine up a spacer to move the cartridge away from the pipe.
Once that's done, back in it goes, and the fun continues.

Mission acomplished !:D outstanding !:D

Gashouse_SP2 10-07-2011 04:04 PM

I really wish you would stop coming up with stuff like this. :D

Mortgage payment or Suzuka tail... Hmmmmm.

What to do, what to do.

Newera 10-07-2011 09:13 PM

Your bike is a work of art. The rear lights look fantastic too. I'd have a set if copies were ever made available... then I'd have to get another tail piece to hack up to make this fit :D
