empty cans?

A friend of mine is trying to sell me a 2005 RC that has stock exhaust and EMPTY cans. It is very loud and sort of cool, but is that safe on the motor?
He had the exhaust cut open on the ends, took everything out, and rewelded.

Buy the bike but change the exhaust. Once you hear an RC w/ real slip-on exhaust you'll realize that it really sounds like a$$ w/ the butchered stock cans.:twocents
