wibbly is back!

I don't think anyone missed me, but after parting out and selling my 51, and going through a couple of other bikes. I've come full circle and purchased another 51.

just picked this up today, very happy to be back with a 51 and looking forward to putting it together my way. it's absolutely MINT, and ready for some aftermarket love

Not much worried...we know you're a true-blue piggy lover!

The other evening my towncar driver (airport travel, late at night, not an everyday thing) who is a knowledgeable rider (competed in motocross in his teens, rides a Gixx now) saw my RC and FREAKED about a 15 year old bike in minty, OEM condition (except the obvious Jardines). Then he raved about the time he met Colin Edwards, etc.

He didn't ask to see my neon.....

thanks!

I've already got some work done, maybe I should start a build thread.

I got my front end on, I measured the forks and they are within 4mm of the stockers, so I don't see where this 18mm stuff was coming from. I measured from the working height of the fork tube (below any caps or chamfers) to the center of the axle. any other measurement isn't worth talking about in my eyes.

I also got my rear wheel fitted, had to do some measuring and some spacing but it's on there for now. I still need to space the cush drive out 4mm but i'll get that done tomorrow, simple job.

just waiting on all my parts to show up.

maybe i'll take some pics tomorrow.

i have started a thread that will follow my project on the rc51 forums.

Wibbly's '05 project - Honda RC51 Forum : RC51 Motorcycle Forums

i'm not sure how active it is here anymore, so i haven't started one here.

I'm thinking that, too. And look at this number as of 8:50pm on 9/30/2015--953 viewing (12 members & 941 guests).

So 12 members are here, one of whom is me, and those other 11 would be people who post. The other 941 pairs of eyes are browsing.

I'm guessing that this forum (and it's historic, knowledgeable members) have already posted every single thing there is to know about or mod on an RC, so there's nothing new here to them (us). So....very little traffic from the Old Guard now, and your decision to post your build to a different forum is a case in point.

On the other hand, mrgrn is gone!

I may be able to get a little shake down ride on it today, just to feel it out, nothing crazy.

winter is right around the corner so it'll get a some love. I have most of the parts I was after, but have a few more yet to do.

i'll update as that happens I guess.
