go with the 996, or even consider a 998/999. First of all, you can sell your 748r motor for a good price (yes, even blown up it is worth ALOT. it has Ti rods, which may now be destroyed, but it has the deseriable R cams in the head, and other components that someone may want, and will be willing to pay for as they are not available any more). As far as the wiring harness/injectors etc, i'm not sure, but a 748/9xx harness is cheap enough on ebay, as is a set of dual injector TBs. It is a pretty straight forward, simple swap. Lefty loosey, righty tighty. It would take pages for me to explain how to do this, so if you get caught up anywhere or have any specific questions, feel free to email or PM me.
