Default Head removal

what's the easiest to get the heads off without the Ducati special tool?

An open ended wrench fits but it seems there would be and easier/better way.

You can make the special tool ion the cheap. Get a 12 point box wrench and heat and bend it so the socket end is flat with the shank. Cut the other end off and weld a 3/8 drive socket on that end. **Be sure the new specialized wrench is located 90 degrees to the beam of the torque wrench or your applied value will be inaccurate. Therefore, be sure of the location of the 3/8 drive socket before you weld it.

Default Head Removal

Do a google search on the part # for the Ducati Tool

Look for the people who modified the Snap on Extension. I took a file to mine and heavily rounded off the edge that goes under the head. I used Snap On becuase I felt due to the amount of material I was removing it was going to live thru the experiance better than a cheap import.

When you torque them down do another search on Torque wrench extension and there is a formula or a web page that will allow you to do the conversion because of the added length of the Snap on Part. I can look when I get home and get you the exact part # and a picture.

Thanks!

Engine is out of the frame and probably won't be put back together so this is the help I needed.

I get the impression you already fixed it?
Otherwise just an ordinary 15mm ring wrench(eng?) will do to unmount the bolts, kamasa fits for me or just grind it a bit thinner.
