Thought I would post about my recent positive experience with GP Suspension. I posted this on another forum a couple days ago, so apologies for the repeat.
I sent GP Suspension my Showa forks last week for some valving work and springs. They're having a winter special and I had heard good things about the quality of their suspension work. I was given excellent customer service and the representative I dealt with, Troy, actually encouraged me to get the 20mm valve kit over the more expensive cartridge kit as I am a street rider. Don't get me wrong, he said the cartridge kit is the sh*t, but since I'm not a racer we both agreed that I would find the 20mm kit to have the best cost/benefit ratio.
Troy called me up when my forks arrived and he had them apart. He went over with me what shape the forks were in and what parts were already in there, before he installed anything. After reviewing the options with me, I asked Troy to remove the 20mm valve kit and springs that were already in there and install the GP kit. I was told the forks would be done in 4-5 days. 4 days later I got a call on my cell from Troy saying the forks were finished and had new springs, seals and a GP valving kit. He also said the compression and rebound settings had been adjusted to their recommendation as a starting point and I should adjust the preload until I get 40mm of rider sag. Troy said he'd ship them out right after we got off the phone and asked if I wanted a couple t-shirts for free (yes please!). When I arrived home from work the NEXT day, the UPS box was sitting on my front porch.
I won't be able to test these babies out until spring, but Troy promised that if I had any concerns about the performance of the forks he would make it right immediately. I am impressed and pleased with the level of service I have received so far from GP suspension. I'll be sure and post a ride report later on when I can get the Duc out for a ride.
Regards,
Jeff
