Default Differences in Frames

Two Questions

1. I just saw the video for the bursig lift, YouTube - Ducati 999 Paddock Racing Stand by Bursig.com And doing some research and such, they have one for the 996 and the 999. So, this might be a dumb and obvious question and all. the 996 frame lift, should fit the 748-998's right? I haven't really looked at the 999's all that much, so i don't know what their frames really look like

2. I just bought a set of Ohlin's R&T front forks, and am looking at a cycle cat triple. And i've always just used stock triples and such, so i don't know the sizes. The page says
"The Cycle Cat DTC6 triple clamp is designed to install superbike forks (53mm) on Ducati Monsters. It fits the Monster 600 (all years), 750 (1997-2001), 900 (1993-2001)."
Will that upper triple work on a 748? That is the only cyclecat upper triple i have seen on oncycles.com (the page cycle cat directs you to)

Öhlins Ducati road&track and the OEM stuff is always 53 top and 56mm bottom. Aprilia forks are different (I think 53 and 54?). The race forks are 52 58 or something. But if you have a Showa right now you just need a new lower triple with 56mm holes.

Okay, Thanks. The forks came with the lower triple. And i found out they are modular bottoms, so now i'm looking into a radial upgrade.

SO.... anyone have any radials off of an 848 and 10/1198 for sale? or Billet HP's or monoblock m4's?

Friend of mine made his own for the ex-Kwackersucky. They´re quite cool but then I think most of the time the classic front and rear stand serve myself better.

Careful on this. The earlier models had 10mm motor mount bolts and the later ones had 12mm. The result being the lugs on the frame are larger diameter on the later models. A stand for a later one won't go into the lugs on an early model and a later model bike will fall off a stand for an early model.

The top triple for the early Monsters is incompatible with any superbike (except "maybe" 851/888), and its not compatible with the later Monsters for two reasons, changed offset (25mm to 30mm) and different size steering stem (pre-01 Monsters used a narrower stem and came equipped with tapered bearings from the factory).

The superbike's offsets are somewhere near 36mm and aftermarket triples are all over the place and may change that to 32 or even 30 to quicken things up a bit. DucShop is one example of a shop that has their own manufactured.

Monster forks came 50/54 (top/bottom) mm diameters.

Showa SBK forks come 53/53.

The CycleCat triple that switches monsters to superbike forks is bored at 53mm and comes with a shim for the lower triple's diameter for showa sbk forks.

Ohlins forks are 53/56. The lower triple regardless of Monster or any other would need to be bored to equip the forks. Alternatively, a billet aftermarket triple like mentioned above, could be had that accomplishes this while being lighter and stiffer than a cast OEM part.

Won't fit 851/888 . They have 30mm offset, same as carby SS's (same triples)

Right. I didn't think that was asked. And as far as I know, all belt drive SS's use the same triples.
