Default Titanium shock rocker pivot

So while the bike is apart, awaiting some goodies, I'm looking for things to keep me busy.

The shock linkage rocker uses a steel pin that rides on needle bearings to pivot.

Any harm in replacing that steel hollow pin with one made from Ti? Only problem I can think of is if the steel pin is hardened.

Any idea how I could tell if that steel pin is hardened?

Default Test

A File will tell you whether it is hardened or not. Of course it will put a notch in it if it is not hardened so it is a rather final test.

Ducati Coventry sell Ti replacement bolts for the 1098 shock link. A grade 5 Ti bolt would be OK. The rocker bearing runs on it's own bush so the bolt does not need to be hardened.
