I like Ty's Novice racer enthusiasm! He can be slightly mis-guided but he sticks it to mrgrn when appropriate so he can't be all bad.

I also like the fact he races a Ducati, like I do and he does well enough. I saw he finished 3rd in a race just a week or two ago. Few of the people cutting on him appear to have much credibility compared to that.

Keep it up Ty.

I will state for the record that I am QUITE sure that Tye is a faster rider than me.

This is a seeming age-old argument which usually ends up with some guys extolling their values versus the values of the other guys. Some make sense and some don't. Some people listen - others don't. And some don't really care.

I'm one of the latter. If its a choice between a BMW M5 and a Maserati Quatraporte - I'm taking the Maser. Between a Corvette and a Ferrari Spider 16M - I'll take the Italian. An Epiphone Casino or a '64 Gibson ES335 - Gibson please.

Most arguments I've seen centre around value per dollar. Actual performance and exclusivity are often excluded. Using this criteria, the 1098 rules. Why? Well, it did win the world championship last year didn't it? And one doesn't see 1098Rs often parked at the 7-11. Starbucks maybe but never 7-11.

So, what have I settled? Absolutely nothing. Never my intention. I just wanted to see MrGrn's subsequent post on his 20 year old bike.

i don't make any claims about my 20 year old bike, it is a rareish 20 year old classic that was, and still is reasonably capable even if i am not
