Regarding your post acruhl I just wanted to say that while I appreciate that a great deal of the stuff that is written in these magazines is a nonsense this is actually 100% true. The 916SPA, or 955SPA (Sports producation America) or 955SP was made. About 54 to allow the Corsa to run in the AMA. This made it the rarest of all the 916 style bikes and one of the rarest Ducatis ever.

It is official based on the engine number not the fact it has a 955cc engine. The bike in this article is of particular interest to the UK market as unlike the other 10 or so in the UK, this came straight from Ducati to run in the TT. This made it an official, direct import and not a "grey" or private import via the US.

I know its not overly clear but in the picture text, the article does actually say this is all aftermarket body kit supplied by the owner of QB Carbon. As in the picture I added. I just wanted to clear all that up as I am the owner of the above bike!! But I think it looks a lot better now with a host of 1996 Corsa race parts on it also!

thanks

Welcome ....
But I must say , I love you and hate at the same time

Thanks for the welcome guys! A friend directed me to this site and after having a look round I must say there are some serious bikes on here!

I found this thread about my bike and didnt really want folk to start spreading stuff about these bikes not existing etc etc when... well.. they do!!

In stock form it would look identical to a 916SP. The only difference being some of the engine number and engine internals. I have owned mine about 1 1/2 years but have only recently started taking it out.

For those that are interested, because the bike lacked identity as its own model and I decided to give it the look of a road going 916 Racing / 955 Corsa. I have spent the last year collecting and fitting:
  • FG9550 genine superbike fork (from the 955 Corsa)
  • Magnesium Yokes
  • Brembo Narrow Track Racing Discs
  • Brembo Monobloc calipers (ex Carl Fogarty)
  • Magnesium original chromate finished Marchesinis wheels (Narrow track Corsa front)
  • Brembo Radial Brake and Clutch levers
  • Original 916 Racing Ohlins Ribbed rear shock
  • Magnesium clutch case
  • Magnesium valve covers
Carbon bits:
  • Original Corsa Carbon flat top tank (ignition had to be relocated to inside one of the side scoops on the fairing)
  • Original Corsa Nose cone (with single light, Australian spec which does both hi & low beam).
  • All fairings and tail original Corsa carbon
  • Corsa Airbox
  • Mudguard
  • Airtubes
  • Undertray
  • V-piece
I think thats the lot! I have almost finished the bike now, I am thinking of putting the 916 Racing clocks on there as the standards trip reset and radial lever adjustment hit so the turning is crap and also I would love to add a magnesium swingarm. But I have been looking for one in good condition (for resonable money) for over a year and so far no luck.

How much are the Mag arms in the US? Anyone know of any over there for sale?
thanks
