cleaning a radiator ?

I have my 748 torn apart down to the frame, and i'm looking to clean my radiator (it's a nice grungy dark color instead of the nice silver), but i have no idea how to go about it. Anyone have some advice?

Go to appliance repair shop and get a gallon jug of the stuff they clean condensing coils with. Works nicely on aluminum. Either soak it or spray the solution on the radiator.

there some that if you let them stay too long on the coils is eats up the Al. so dont let is stay too long.

I'm thinking something like non-etching automotive wheel cleaner would work too.

We're talking the exterior of the radiator, right?

yes, the exterior. I have the bike apart, and figured i might as well clean that while it's off

Another alternative is to take it to a radiator shop and let them soak the whole thing in their tank to clean the inside and outside. Cleaning the inside is more important to the function of the bike than cleaning the outside, which is only cosmetic.

i ended up giving it to a radiator shop. he flushed the inside and steam cleaned the outside
