Bikebandit obviously doesn't deal with Duke parts anymore.
Where can I look up the prices?
I don't want to look up a long list of part numbers and have to call a dealer. It's long distance. As in 2 hours and 120 miles long distance.
And Bikebandit didn't list anything before 2000. Made it hard to figure out what the part for a '95 M900 might cost, to say nothing of an '87 Duke.

I only have links to the .pdf that Ducati still makes available (2000+ I think), but if you have any part numbers you can at least enter them here and get a retail price. I haven't had much luck getting any parts from pre-nineties bikes though, so I can't help you there.
Comes in handy for retail price checks, and if you can't find something locally you can order it through that link as well. The database includes all the apparel and accessories as well, so anything with a part number should come back with information for you.
I was playing with that one last night. Taking numbers from ducatiusa.com and trying to enter them at Omaha.
It didn't recognize any of them...

Great service but what's with the parts surcharge if your order is under $100?
And I quote, " ** OEM parts orders under $100 in total OR over 5 items will incur a $15 Special Handling Fee."
That pretty much eliminates any benefit from shopping your website vs going to my local dealer. For example, I need 2 axle adjusters, an oil filter, 4 bolts and 2 sets of belts. That order would be over $100 and over 5 items so you whack me an additional $15? Seems more like a notable deterrent to buying from you guys where otherwise I would.

Most items from ducati come in packs of ten. So I have to buy 10 washers or o-rings to fill many small orders. It also takes a bit of time to physically locate all the small parts. So it's quite easy to have an order for 25 items that adds up to about 5 dollars and take 15~20 minutes to pull. I just haven't come up with a way around these issues yet so I have placed a bit of a premium on those orders.
We started this OEM parts project because we felt there were people that didn't have a convienient way to obtain oem parts. We really aren't trying to compete on price and take business away from other dealers. I just know that their are people who are having a bad experience with Ducati because of their location, or the parts problems they've had in the past. And I'd like to try to alleviate that, especially in the midwest where there isn't as much of a Ducati presence.
In the meantime, you can always call me up at our 800 number and we can haggle

I think the online ordering system is a GREAT idea the same way I was relieved when Bike Bandit began selling Ducati parts. Quick, easy and accessible 24/7. Bike Bandit's shipping was very reasonable also.
I understand the hassles of selling small parts, but what's the difference if I came into the shop to buy 1 of these, 4 of those and 3 of the other thing or did it all online when you could reasonably fill those orders at the end of the day? I would expect a shop visit to be more troubling for you since you would have to drop what you are doing to fill my order.
I would be more than happy to become a regular customer if I didn't have to jump the hurdle of a $15 admission fee to do so. How many orders are not going to be hit with the surcharge the way you currently have it set up? I'm guessing few.

Here's the deal, we've never actually charged anyone the $15 fee, we're too nice for that. I have no problem taking the verbiage off of our web site regarding the $15 fee, since we've never charged it anyway. It was just something that we feared when we started this project about getting hundreds of orders for $.04 washers and not being able to service our customers adequately. In reality, it hasn't been a problem, so no biggie.
