it would actually be just a
little less work than a 2V into an older 748/916 chassis swap like i did....
BUT, if you just happen to have a **9 rolling chassis just lying around, and the same for a 2V motor, then yeah, after you cut the case at the swingarm pivot exactly the same as you would for a 2V motor into a 916/748 frame, it will bolt right up.
THEN, you'll likely have to work out an airbox/battery tray solution, and have a set of headers made from a combination of the two, among a few other smaller things than can give a headache.....
check out my write-up:
SBK/SS hybrid
as far as what is the point? i did it because i wanted to. i did it because i wanted a bike that would be more 'ridable' than the 916 formerly was. i did it because i wanted a bike that would be unique and i could truly say it was all mine. i did it because i am a firm believer that it's way more fun to go fast on a slow bike than slow on a fast bike. and i did it because i pretty much
have to take everything i have apart and see how many other ways it will go back together.....
BTW, my bike 'feels' significantly lighter than a std. issue 916, at little to no expense to me, but that's because it's stripped down to the bare eesentials.....
