In 2005, a group of graduate students at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced and International Studies (SAIS) participated in the school’s annual diplomatic simulation. The high-pressure scenario required the students to negotiate a resolution to a standoff with a nuclear-armed Republic of Pakistan. Mara Karlin, a student known for her hawkish politics on Israel and the Middle East, played President of the United States.
Though most of the participants were confident they could head off a military conflict with diplomatic measures, Karlin jumped the gun. According to a former SAIS student, not only did Karlin order a nuclear strike on Pakistan, she also took the opportunity to nuke Iran. Her classmates were shocked. It was the first time in 45 years that a simulation concluded with the deployment of a nuclear weapon.
That year, Karlin received a plum job in the Bush administration’s Department of Defense where, according to her bio she was “intimately involved in formulating U.S. policy on Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Israel-Palestinian affairs.”
Romney is getting his clock cleaned today in Missouri, Minnesota, and it looks like Santorum will win in Colorado too.
Romney has lost primaries/caucus to weak candidates (Gingrich, Santorum). He is dead meat in the general election against Obama.
What a crappy candidate. Republicans had four years to prepare to defeat Obama, and Romney is the best tired old dog they could trot out.
Romney losing to Gingrich/Santorum is indeed troubling for Pubs. It shows how many Pubs do not prefer Romney. So while Romney SHOULD be the best candidate because he will draw many moderates away from Obama, he also must worry about the far right not showing up at the polls or else writing in a third candidate, etc. His support is diluted. That's why he's been talking far right in his speeches lately - trying to win them over. Kinda late for that, Mitt. You have a long history and going against it only makes you look worse.
Besides, didn't Romney say if Obama is creating jobs we should vote for him? Of course he said that when we were still losing jobs. Oops.
Romney's only hope is if job creation takes another dip. It could happen. He's not out of it yet.

Yeah, she sounds like a real winner.
Maybe Newt can talk her over to his side.

Romney will be the candidate no matter what IMO. But that is more a statement on the weakness/electability of the other candidates than Romney's strength.
Paul looks bad on TV and appears to be your grumpy old uncle. Great ideas and principled, but wrapped in a bad presentation.
Santorum is vanilla. Beige. Forgettable. The Buick Skylark of candidates. He endorsed Romney in 2008, I don't see how when the spotlight is on him that can possibly help him defeat Mitt. I also don't like the idea of Theocracy his rhetoric seems to describe.
Gingrich is a slimeball and asshole, but very shrewd and smart. In reality probably the "best" candidate to defeat Obama and lead in 2013, except that he is wildly unlikable. Again, some good qualities wrapped in an unpalatable exterior.
So this leaves Romney basically by default. Every media outlet that supports the right has more or less endorsed him. He has the facade of a winner. People say he has hit business home runs, of course they are much easier to hit when your father was also a political bigshot. I could robably hit more home runs if I was born leading off third too. Anyway, his support even among Republicans appears to only be around 50% on a good day.
Obama will slaughter him in a general election. Ironic that everyone is worried (including me) about wacky Christian right candidates and we will end up choosing between a Mormon and a guy some believe to be Muslim.

(For the record I do not)
What is missing on the right are people like Burns... What Burns doesnt realize is that he has to wholeheartedly strike down the radicals in his own camp in order to preserve the balance of his nation and move forward. Look at how Dems get rid of weiner flashers and twitter slippers.. Routine. But the right is making a slogan out of morons. The people on the right who are reasonable to reason are being kicked of of their party HQ.
Used to be MOST of the conservatives had logic, reason and knowledge. Now, sorry to say, it's just crazy liars and deniers.. with a few reasonable men still keeping up the good of the right where possible. The ones who are left are outnumbered and WILL face, from the base, the treatment we see dished out to Ron Paul.
Impossible to understand or respect the right of the right because one must suspend truth, discovery, enlightenment and philosophy just to have an agreement about weights and measures... dayam.

Occupy.
Occupy is no longer Occupy, it's Destroy. If good weather ahead means more protests then they have to wipe the residue from the movement, seriously.
The Pubs have the same problem that Occupy has. The radicals get the spotlight.
This poll seems to support my position on Romney, that he has a limited amount of support. A-pparently the ceiling for his favorable rating is 40%. More people, as they get to know the candidate turn to a disfavorable rating of him. Romney’s Favorable Numbers Tanking | Elections
Gas prices are rising, unemployment is only slightly improved and could again get worse. Obama could be blamed for both (stupid voters). It wont' be decided 'till November.
