FYI, everyone, if you think the number of gun deaths are bad (yes, I know you aren't capable of thinking...maybe someone with a fully functioning brain WILL come along and read this so just relax) you should check out accidental deaths in hospitals. DO NOT GO TO THE HOSPITAL UNLESS IT IS NECESSARY.

"The JOURNAL of the AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION (JAMA) Vol 284, No 4, July 26th 2000 article written by Dr Barbara Starfield, MD, MPH, of the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, shows that medical errors may be the third leading cause of death in the United States.

The report apparently shows there are 2,000 deaths/year from unnecessary surgery; 7000 deaths/year from medication errors in hospitals; 20,000 deaths/year from other errors in hospitals; 80,000 deaths/year from infections in hospitals; 106,000 deaths/year from non-error, adverse effects of medications - these total up to 225,000 deaths per year in the US from iatrogenic causes which ranks these deaths as the # 3 killer. Iatrogenic is a term used when a patient dies as a direct result of treatments by a physician, whether it is from misdiagnosis of the ailment or from adverse drug reactions used to treat the illness. (drug reactions are the most common cause)."

And this was in 2000. I think it's gotten worse since (Bush).

Here's something for you to attempt to understand:
"On the other hand, Obama has lowered taxes repeatedly. He extended the Bush tax cuts. He passed a payroll tax holiday. He passed the Making Work Pay tax cut. Overall, he's been big on tax cuts and very reluctant to consider higher income or payroll taxes as a way to fund programs or close the deficit. As PolitiFact says, "most Americans have seen lower taxes.""
Ezra Klein - The Obama administration has raised some taxes and cut many others. They should admit that.

Overall - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Doesn't quite fit with what you hear on FUX, does it? Poor Rupert.

Overall, Obama is a massive failure as president as are you for failing to see that. Reluctance(more like an outright refusal) is being shown by the president to curb out of control spending or come up with a solution to the deficit that doesn't involve raising taxes and borrowing more money for programs that can't be justified.

Put down the ganga and read what I said. I said "I thought SUV's deaths are one of this countries great failings (SUV's killing rise as gas prices drop) That's a fact!."

SUV's are doing the killing stupid. They are sooo big they kill whatever they hit. Maybe the government should do back-round checks and have a waiting period before you can own one. Don't forget to have car dealers reporting individuals who purchase more than two but only in the States that border Mexico.

I know it's lost on you but if he's a failure TO YOU then that must mean he's a success.

The programs (for the most part) ARE justifiable. It's the tax cuts and trillion dollar wars that are not. Funny how you're willing to spend trillions on Iraq and not here. Are you American?

Maybe you need to explain yourself better. I read it again and it doesn't get the point across successfully.

You are correct that survivability is higher in a SUV than in a small car involved in the same collision. We're on the same page. But also, as I was saying, they are now less prone to rollover, thanks to statistics we know that. And that's a fact.

Doesn't quite fit with what you hear on FUX, does it? Poor Rupert.
Overall your still an moron. Obama hasn't been big on tax cuts. In fact if he had his way, we would all be in a socialist society with a dictator style political party. Obama would tax every productive earner until there was nothing left. Creating an uber lower class with an "elitist" pay as you go upper class. All while spending tax revenue faster than he could collect.
But I digress:
Obama was brought to the tax cut table kicking a
nd screaming and was forced to extend the Bush tax cuts (midterm election) which should have been made permanent by the Republicans.
The payroll tax holiday was bullsh!t. A tax accounting shell game which put everybody in a higher tax bracket.

The Making Work Pay Tax Cut
Most working individuals received $400 a year and working families received $800 a year through reduced payroll deductions. What can you say about this.. (window dressing) Just so Obama could say "Hey, I gave you all a tax cut, now it's time to eat your peas."

This is from the Democratic leadership at the time:

Speaker Pelosi:
The Making Work Pay tax cut will put more money in workers' paychecks each week, helping to jumpstart our economy and provide some much-needed relief to Americans who are having a difficult time making ends meet. Congress passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act one month after President Obama took office, giving workers across the country one of the fastest tax cuts in our nation's history.
Putting more money directly into the hands of 95 percent of working Americans is only the beginning. This week, Congress will pass a budget blueprint for America that cuts taxes for middle-income Americans by $1.5 trillion, cuts the deficit by two-thirds, creates new jobs through investments in health care, clean energy and education, while cutting spending to its lowest level in a generation.
With the Making Work Pay tax credit, President Obama and Congress have made clear that American families are at the top of our agenda.
Leader Steny Hoyer:
We have already seen real results from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, including jobs saved and created across the country. Tomorrow, we will see another result: tax relief for middle-class Americans.
Much of the focus of the economic recovery bill was assistance to middle-income families. The 'Making Work Pay' tax credit will start showing up in paychecks tomorrow, with credits each month adding up to $400 for adults and $800 for families over the course of a year. This additional money in their paycheck as a result of this tax credit is vital to working families who are struggling to pay their bills and make ends meet during this recession.
This Democratic Congress has consistently fought for the needs of the middle-class in America, and the 'Making Work Pay' tax credit is just one more piece of our efforts to help them face the current economic crisis.
Didn't work out so well did it?

Now take into account increases in health care costs due to Obama Care. Shown in higher payroll deductions. Don't forget bracket creep, the death tax and all the other changes made to the tax code. Inflation, housing, gas prices, the devaluing of the dollar by all the funny money the Fed is printing... The result, most everybody paid more in taxes last year and their net worth (house, savings, 401k's, Ira's and everything else we've busted are ass for is now worth less.

The icing on the cake: Obama wants tax increases as part as the budget deal that wouldn't make a wit of difference to the bottom line but would certainly crush the U.S. economic engine.

Obama implicated?

Border: A 2-year-old video shows a high Justice official saying "the president has directed us," including the attorney general, to speed up Project Gunrunner and the offshoot that got a border agent killed.
This tape has no 18-minute gap, and while it does not feature the president himself, the March 24, 2009, video may rival the tape that turned a "third-rate burglary" into a presidential resignation. No one died at Watergate. Agent Brian Terry lost his life in the administration's obsessive pursuit of gun control.
In addition to Agent Terry, Immigration Customs Enforcement Agent Jaime Zapata was also killed in a separate incident by a weapon allowed to "walk" into Mexico from the U.S. as part of the administration's third-rate alleged attempt to track and catch gun traffickers.
The video shows Deputy Attorney General David Ogden, who would resign nine months later after less than a year's service, telling reporters at a Department of Justice briefing of major policy initiatives to fight the Mexican drug cartels.
"The president has directed us to take action to fight these cartels," Ogden begins, "and Attorney General Holder and I are taking several new and aggressive steps as part of the administration's comprehensive plan."
At the president's direction, Ogden said, the administration's plan included DOJ's Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives "increasing its efforts by adding 37 new employees in three new offices, using $10 million in Recovery Act funds and redeploying 100 personnel to the Southwest border in the next 45 days to fortify its Project Gunrunner," of which Operation Fast and Furious would be a part.

Stupido! I wish I had the cartoon that was recently in the paper...but I don't. There was a man standing next to a gigantic pile of assault style weapons. ONE of the weapons was labeled "Operation F&F". All the other ones were the ones that were normally sold, business as usual, through our gun shops (no matter what administration). You know, the weapons going to the cartels that we are TRYING to stop...at least someone is trying to stop them. I don't recall any republicants trying to. Do you? In fact, it's the republicants who are largely responsible for the narco wars with their idiotic prohibitions.
Dude, you can't see the forest for the trees. Get off your political hobby horse.

In your world...maybe so. Thanks for proving my point yet again. If the US Government is conducting an operation where they willfully allow weapons to be illegally purchased and transported over State and International borders in an effort to arrest nobody in particular....its a dismal failure. They were mainly working with a political objective and overlooked the little thing known as the common good. This led to the murder of countless innocents as well as law enforcement personnel.
Their function should have been to act upon the tips provided by the law abiding gun shop owners, not to willfully ignore their warnings that perps were attempting to buy weapons. Remember that the ATF instructed the gunshops to make sales to individuals who did not clear the NICS check.

How you think you've been proven right in this idiotic assumption is beyond me....

You're a walking billboard for the problem with allowing marijuana use.
