Default Fort Hood

Men (and women, presumably) preparing for war get shot in the back. Grief all around. You never know when your time is up and how it will happen. Another shocker to add to the list.

What I want to know is why was this man even considered for the combat zone? He got poor evaluations, he had a record of argueing with others about our involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq, and to top it off he is a Muslim asked to support people in the field who are killing Muslims. Does that sound like the kind of person that would aid our effort? Whoever decided this nut job should go to Afghanistan needs to hang up his holster pronto, without pension.

I don't know if Hasan requested not to go, or if he requested discharge, or if this was the end of a grand scheme on his part. Since the maggot lived maybe we'll find out but at this point I'm assuming that he's borderline nuts and was pushed over the edge. At least it's semi-comforting to think he did not enroll in order to do a dasterdy deed. But who knows at this point?

The newspaper (remember those?) says that "the attack happened just down the road from one of the worst mass shootings in U.S. history. On Oct.16, 1991, George Hennard smashed his pickup through a Luby's Cafeteria window in Killeen, Texas, and fired on the lunchtime crowd with a high-powered pistol (huh?), killing 22 people and wounding at least 20 others." More good news, in case anyone forgot. Ah, the humanity.

Major PhuckTard loser, scum bag, coward, C%$t.

It amazes me that the military personnel were so well trained that they didnt shoot the bastard or let him bleed out. that they helped others before even knowing if it was safe or not. Now thats discipline. Not like other idiots who claim, if they were there, they would have shot him dead on the spot. Not that he wouldn't deserve death but that training would trump personal desire under duress.... that's Amazing.

RIP

I hope the coward traitor Major supports Natural Selection and drops dead.

He's currently listed in a coma, they should place a pig in a bed next to him, so when we awakens, he see's he's getting a blood transfusion from said pig.......Enough of this douchebag, prayers to the victims and their loved ones.

Semper Fi!

Political Correctness in the military is now responsible for 13 dead and 38 injured. Heads need to roll!

We need to wait and see what the killer's motivations were, but it would seem pretty stupid to be sending Muslim US soldiers to fight against Muslims in the Middle East.

In WW2, I believe that US Japanese-American soldiers were deployed in Europe, not in the Pacific war against Japan. And weren't they the highest-decorated group of soldiers in the US army in that war?

I wouldn't say it was political correctness that's responsible. I would go back to the lies that were behind the invasion of Iraq in the first place.

Is was an unjust war from the beginning, with all sorts of terrible shit happening as a result.

I would say that you were an misguided! BTW, did German or Italian Americans fight against Germans and Italians in WWII? Your argument, as usual falls short.

No, he's not, Matthew. And his argument is precise.
The Japanese Americans fought with courage and valor against the nazis and Italians, and also against the Japanese.
That's what America used to be about, before the neocons began wiggling the knife.

Italian Americans and German Americans also fought with the Allies against their roots, because they were fighting for America and freedom.

"Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel."
When you let your nation get bigger than you, that's when trouble starts.
Concepts are worth fighting for, a name on a map is not.

"Most the of the half-million second-generation Italian Americans who served in World War II came from working-class families. At least 12 won the Congressional Medal of Honor. They entered the armed forces right out of high school or, like my father, left before graduation in order to take up arms against the Axis foes who threatened world stability and were committing atrocities against humanity. Although many Italian Americans were sent to the South Pacific, others were willing to fight in Italy herself against Mussolini's Fascists and, in some cases, their own brethren in the regions where they still had living relatives. All of them proved their valor and their loyalty to the U.S."

WWII and Italian Americans, Part 1 | Suite101.com

"President Franklin D. Roosevelt did not hesitate to name Americans of German ancestry to top war jobs, including General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, and General Carl Andrew Spaatz. He appointed Republican Wendell Willkie as a personal representative. German Americans who had fluent German language skills were an important asset to wartime intelligence, and they served as translators and as spies for the United States."

The Japanese Americans also served with valor and courage. Not so the creepy white turkeys who didn't have their balls and stayed behind.

"Indeed, members of the Japanese-American "442" performed so many distinguished acts that the "442" became the most decorated unit of its size and length of service in the American Army. The unit garnered over 18,000 individual decorations for bravery, 9,500 Purple Hearts for casualties, and seven Presidential Distinguished Unit citations.

The "442" became world famous during the war when they rescued a beleaguered American battalion that had been trapped for eight days behind enemy lines in the mountains of France. "For four days and nights they fought their way through these very dense mountains," says Asahina, who has visited the site. "The canopy is so dense that when you are in there in the middle of the day, it's dark. And they were fighting there in the dark, climbing hills with the Germans firing down on them. It was one of the most heroic battles of the French campaign."
Many of the Japanese-American soldiers faced a different kind of combat when they returned home. The experience of a sergeant named Shig Doi, which is described in Just Americans, was not uncommon.
Doi's family had been sent to the camps from their family farm in California. When Doi returned from the war, he discovered the homestead had been riddled with bullets by so-called "Night Rider" vigilantes.
"There had even been an attempt to blow it up," says Asahina, adding that "many '442' veterans came home and found out that they were unwelcome, that their homes had been vandalized, that they had lost the property, that their neighbors had run off with things they had left with them, that their farms had been burned down."
Most of the veterans of the 100th Battalion and the 442nd Regimental Combat Team died before their achievements and their challenges were fully recognized. However, in a June 21st 2000 White House ceremony, President Bill Clinton awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor to 20 of the Japanese-American soldiers, seven of whom were still alive to savor their long-delayed recognition."

Japanese-American WWII Soldiers Fought Battles at Home and Abroad

The people who vandalized the homes of American heroes were most likely related to these scumbags, who resembled the Glen Beck happy-clapping teabagging, Obama-hating fanclub before the time....

twin-nut: "What good muslim would support the Taliban?"

A question which intrigues me is: "Why would any Christian support Israel?"

Skin color? Language? Genetic origins? Euro-centrism? Cooler weapons? Precurser to the end times? Propoganda from APAC?

Definitely the last one. Probably the others too.

You don't seem to know how it is, though, Matthew, otherwise you wouldn't have made that dumb remark.

However, I'll bow to your intimate knowledge, so feel free to prove that what I posted is wrong.

I find it really funny that people can get so hot under the collar when a Muslim cracks over an unfair and illegal war and goes psycho, yet never seem to blink when a zealot "End-of-times" Christian does the same, and Matthew, I'm ABSOLUTELY sure that you know some of these lunatics in the US Army.
Look up some of the massacres committed by these dogmatic idiots, and prepare yourself for lots more. Any time a religion gets fanatical, the doo-doo will hit the air-conditioning unit.
The same with the Moonies and the neo-nazis, and if you think that there are NO neo-nazis in the US Army, then in you're in for a rude shock.

Hey, Hasan is out of his coma. Now he'll respond to water boarding.
Cheney's dying to send him to Egypt.
After the fact...again.

Let's hear what the CIA has to say about why Hasan was being sent to war.
