Gog, that's rich..."denial of the world around oneself" ??? I enrich the world I live in by attributing it's origin to it's claimed creator. If it pleases you to attribute same to random chance in a primordial goop, so be it...
As far as my believing you are errant and wrong, I don't judge you. Your beliefs are your business and you'll have to take that up with "the God".

Fair enough... I generalize but try to stay open minded as you do.

The earliest footprints showing evidence of modern human foot anatomy and gait have been unearthed in Kenya.

Yeah, now that the Vatican has come to the realization that they have to eat crow and modify (yet again) their dogma.

BBC NEWS | Science/Nature | 'Life code' of chimps laid bare

Lesser and lesser amounts of people can be found who, discredit or intentionally debunk evolution... More and more proof, science and methodical understanding has been laid out clearly for all well adjusted, open minded, reasonably educated human beings to contemplate and understand. It is not lost upon them. It is not a hoax for grant money by a secret society of liberals, a ploy by the devil or a political movement and, btw/ftr, there is no 'missing link' any longer .... I personally dont think we evolved a consciousness, over millions of years, in order to unconscionably wipe out our habitat, ourselves and other living beings and things that evolved right along with us for all this time on our amazing planet!

What if GOD is TIME? Not a hairy, funny tongued miracle man from the distant desert or a marble cloud flier or a goat...

Now that we are exploring the the inner most parts of our beings, and the outermost parts of the universe, think maybe we can not poison our ecology before Mutant HomoFalopianVaccine#7 is ready? We are deficient in so many genes, we know that by comparing ourselves to chimps, we learn from chimps... imagine that. Prolly would been burned at the stake for saying that a few years ago.

You don't see anything. You wish for this to be the case. Why you people think like this I do not know. Some people say there is a gene for it. On the other hand, sanity is a continuum. Some people wind up at Bellevue and some never have any issues at all. Then there are all the people in between. You're one of those .

Don't say I'm closed minded, because I'm eager to see any evidence of a God (he or she or it). I'm 50 and haven't seen one iota of it yet, including the likeness of Jesus on toast. In reality, God is a concept, nothing more, a convenient explanation for people who want one, and one that makes them want to get up in the morning. Which is just fine and dandy. But it's a shame that the nonsense spills over into politics (and sports ).

God is an excuse to stop learning the truth... The end of learning the truth limits responsibility and ignorance is bliss...

Here's a typical, religious mind fvck... Just apply this nonsese to 99% of religion and it's quacks...

Quote:
A prime example is the recent demise of a "doctor" in Kansas, George Tiller. This man was widely know as a late-term abortionist and was personally responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent children, for enormous profit. Then, finally, someone chose to end his bloody career by performing a very-late-term abortion on Tiller. Many innocent children will live now because an evil man named Tiller was aborted. Not a bad outcome. Evil was destroyed.
Yet, refer to the BASIC law of the fundemental book of 'truth' and it says "You shall not murder". WTF? It goes on and on and on and on.... subject after subject, condition after condition, exception after exception and lie after lie...every breach has it's own, modern day or ancient excuse. Only the passionately misinformed and the utter foolish can continue with its hypocrisy....and they do...

The word of god is sometimes an inconvenience. So when it comes down to it, do whatever the hell you want to do. What conviction.

NOVA | Defending Intelligent Design

Quote:
"This whole Darwinian story, it seems to me, has been very much oversold," says Phillip Johnson. "It is an imaginative story that has been spun on the basis of very little evidence."
What a joke... a sad, impossibly childish, narrow minded joke... He wants to be called the other half of the story. Shouldnt you qualify for that by being at least 1% scientific?

If you compare the people in the circles of evolution denial and climate denial, you could clearly see how the denier's mind works and how it fails to work. What it will readily accept because of it's imprinting and what it will dismiss for the same reason. It doesnt take long to discover where faith and emotions trump logic and reason and how a host of delusions are certain to follow....

They will go to their grave denying... no matter what is presented or how science itself evolves. It'd be nice if they could simply inherit their own consequences, like a cigarette smoker's habit could NOT give off second hand smoke and simply leave the smoker to his/her own inheritance.

Gog, denying is evolution at work. Take a good look at what's going on and marvel at the opportunity to see it in action. You're right, deniers are like flat earthers, or the intelligent design crowd, or for that matter, witch burners or linchers. What we have is, the primative aspects of humanity hanging on as the rest of the species moves into the future. Like I said before, it's like what modern men witnessed as their neighbors, the Neanderthal, passed into history. Deniers are falling behind too. They will find it harder and harder to find a mate in the future. Not because they have hairy backs. More because women won't want the denier gene in their pool. It's like the kiss of death to their progeny, a loss of ability to adapt and survive in a world of constantly quickening change. The number one genetic advantage that future humans will covet is adaptability. The ability to think on your feet and learn, not to freeze, to fear and to deny.

There may be a way out for some of the hangers-on. In the future, women will gain dominance in business. You can see it coming by looking at student enrollment and performance in schools. Men will not be the primary wage earner. Many of them will be househusbands. As a consequence of this and other social changes women will become the dominant force in the bedroom. Men who are gifted in that area will probably maintain some level of genetic contribution to our species future. But if you're a denier and you shoot your load in a minute flat you can forget about great grandchildren. Should be an interesting century.

You're an ocean full of faces
And you know that we believe
We're just a wave that drifts around you
Singing all our hopes and dreams
We look around in wonder
At the work that has been done
By the visions of our father
Touched by his loving son

What will be our last thought?
Do you think it's coming soon?
Will it be a comfort
Or the pain of a burning wound?

Nero and Rocky give a great picture of what scientists deal with....

"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away."

-- Philip K. Dick

Quote:
Instead of arguing about ways to cut greenhouse gas emissions, the media and the blogosphere have been debating the proposition that Gore is a dangerous nut who is not intimately acquainted with the truth when it comes to global warming.
The Tyee — Al Gore's 'Errors': The Verdict

Quote:
In challenging Gore's film, Dimmock appears to have demanded that climate-change deniers be given equal time in the classroom.
But the judge ruled that balance does not mean giving equal weight to fringe views.
Taking "an extreme example," the judge said that students learning about the moon need not spend a great deal of time on the theory that it is made of green cheese.
"The balanced approach," he said, "does not involve equality."
Gee, if you read right wing slogs, Gore(man-bear-pig) is a criminal, the moon is made of green cheese and they deserve more chances to boldly, 'intelligently' lead us into the middle ages...
