Default A "Sign" of our Crisis....

Just a thought ladies......The internationally recognized sign of distress is to fly your flag upside down. What if every American who is "upside down" on their mortage or is in a fincial crisis flys the American flag upside down outside their home, on their car (bumper sticker) t-shirt etc. Send a message to the numb nuts in Washington that they are failing us, we love our nation, but we hate our government. Imagine entire neighborhoods flying upside down flags, troops with upside down flags on their uniforms, MAYBE then they'd GET "it"!!!!!!!! LETS START A MOVEMENT!

Clear left, clear right, fire at will..................

Although I agree, hearing about the stimulus madness for the past week and how much it continues to grow is very frustrating to every working American......or it should be. I was against it with Bush in Office and now that it's grow 3-4x Im even more against it.

The thing that pisses me off is how arrogant these mf'ers are about it too. Im not sure about the current 'massaged' package but a week ago there was talk about a section of the stimulus pie named 'OTHER' which equated to $119BILLION....other?????.......seriouslt folks WTF are we doing here?

I thought this summed up the stimulus mess pretty well.
Obama's 'Naked' Moment - Forbes.com

Obama's mistake wasn't having a stimulus plan, it was letting Barney Frank and Pelosi write it. Those two clowns never saw a pork project they didn't like for their districts. It is similar to 2001-02 when the Republicans controlled everything. they get so caught up with being greedy bastards for their constituancy they spend like crazy. No real checks and balances.

What is worse is that Obama now also looks disingenuous becuase his so-called "infrastructure revitalization" is only about 12% of the bill. If he had been heavily involved in the specifics, my guess is that it would have been closer to the ideal he described before inauguration.

IMO, he is quickly learning what worthless sacks of crap the Democrats in Congress are going to be to him in his effort to lead the country. I could just have easily posted this in my earlier thread about his naivety showing, just more evidence.

But Obama is a smart guy and will learn quickly, hopefully before his political capital and goodwill from the voters has been consumed. Soon he will be a man without a party, and that may very well be a good thing. There is a reason Congress had a lower approval rating than even GWB. Be more like Reagan, take the argument directly to the people and win them first. Congress will follow from both sides.

Yeah, right.

I don't think they know what they are doing. I think they want to do something, to look like they are doing something. But no one has a clue if a stimulus (or porkulus) package will get things cooking again. Economies are just too big and complex to expect a big spending plan to fix things. If things do turn around later this year I'll give most of the credit to lucky timing. The recession was not Shrub's fault and Obama is not going to fix it. Presidents are mostly a product of their times and not vice-versa. In things other than the economy, Shrub is an exception, because he was so radical, almost nutty radical.

I believe our economy has been growing at an unsustainable level for at least a couple of decades. Ever-increasing productivity is always good but the growth needed to slow down. Too many immigrants, too many strip-malls, too much damn development, especiallly in the sun belt. This economic meltdown is a natural response, I think. I just wish would have told me when it was going to hit.

It's the system. The legalized bribery. The connections to big business. The finiancial needs of campagning. The attorneys, the lobyists, the money, the scratch your back - you scratch mine reality. It probably corrupts a good 80% of them.

The first thing that should happen is to get a Supreme Court that doesn't think political contributions by corporations are protected free speech.

Then we need to keep elected reps from going on to be lobyists, at least for five years, preferably ten years.

Then you need to clean up the tax code and make everyone pay what they are supposed to.

Then you need to make marijuana legal and tax it.

Then you need to stop all illegal immigration.

Then you need to clamp down on gangs.

Then you need to........

**** it, I'm going to run for pResident.

Term limits. Pure and simple.
There is essentially only one political position in this country with a limit. The president. From mayor on up limit them to two terms. Just watch the bozos we put in Washington. A newbie is relatively quiet for the first term. On the second four years they have learned the system and the aristocratic behavior and that's where the BS starts.

Why limits? Because we the people are too lazy to actually watch what these dickheads are doing. 8 years and you're done. Now go find a real job where you actually work more than 30 days per year.

Guess the name of this company

The company that these people work for is very well known.
Just think about what these employees are up to.

It has 535 employees
29 have been charged with spousal abuse.
7 have been arrested for fraud.
19 have been charged with passing hot checks.
117 have bankrupted 2 or more companies.
3 have served time for assault.
71 have such poor credit that they cannot get a mastercard or visa.
14 have been arrested on drug charges.
8 have been arrested for shoplifting.
21 are current defendants in lawsuits.
84+ were arrested in 2008 for drunk driving.

What company is this?
The US Congress.

I'm less than impressed with term limits watching it here...sure it got rid of Willie B and few others but it turned out to be a revolving door the same bone heads are running things they just move to the next goverment job.

The same groups that wield the power (unions, Lobbyist's) still pick the winners.

Midgen is a good example of why California is in trouble.

But her drugged out episode was supposedly because of her prescribed medication. Not saying it's true, just saying you're leaving out some important details, as usual.

HER story (as in please feel sorry for me...) was that her chemo medication made her whacked out. However she was NEVER able to provide the CHP or the voters the name or perscription for the drug citing "patient confidentiality" (bullshit!) She drove from S.F. to Sacramento on hwy 80 in mid day traffic, hit AT LEAST 4 cars and the guard rail several times, prompting numerous drivers to call 911 and report a hit-run/reckless driver, and whe she was finally stopped IN HER STATE SUV, she lied to the police, gave false statements and refused breath or blood tests. Tell me what part of that fiasco we're unclear on. Any one of us would've been thrown UNDER the jail (for good reason) but because she's a lesbian politician in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia she walked.
