Default Quick Question about Obama???

If President Obama gets the economy on the right track, kills Usama Bin Laden and stabilizes the middle east and gets us out of Iraq and Afghanistan, does he deserve another term???

Even if he is running against Sarah Palin???

Even if he did none of those things, I still wouldn't vote for Sarah Palin.

Maybe.

Killing OBL is not a high priority for me, so I could care less. OBL isn't doing much planning these days, probably hiding out like a wild animal protecting his own backside.

As far as Iraq goes getting out should be an important goal, although just arbitrarily pulling out on a certain date seems to be a recipe for disaster. When we leave it must be when Iraq can govern and police itself. We broke it, we bought it.

Afghanistan is a similar problem that is possibly more difficult. No invading force has been able to "conquer" Afghanistan, it is to remote and diverse. As I understand it the tribes have always been the real rulers locally. We might be there for decades, or just pick a good time to get the heck out of Dodge and go. It was a toilet, is a toilet, and likely always will be a toilet.

The economy, specifically the United States economy (instead of our global trading partners) is what Obama must focus on right now. Nobody trusts the banking and investment sector, and there is no honor among the thieves either, they don't trust each other's balance sheet either. Regulations will be enacted that will restore that trust in time, but it will take years. House prices continue to correct, there is nothing he can do to stop it in the long-term. Until they bottom the economy will not start to recover fully.

My hope is that he can use the current economic chaos to look ahead 5 years, 10 years, 20 years. Use this as an opportunity to push the country in the correct direction of energy independence, renewed manufacturing capabilities, and sustainable prosperity. For several years there has been a theory of decoupling, that even if the US faltered, emerging economies like China had gotten big enough to support themselves and not rely on us buying their stuff. Obviously this theory was incorrect. Ironically, it might prove to be that it is the US who has the resources to go it alone and to hell with everyone else.

Everyone must have realistic goals for Obama for the next four years, and if he does what is right for the country, even if it isn't my first choice of action, I will consider voting for him the next time. Palin WILL NOT be the nominee for the Republicans, so that is a moot point.

Its a safe bet that he'll accomplish nothing on your wish list.

If his actions cause an economic meltdown and civil war will you vote for him again? (Never mind what's happening overseas)

So as I understand you, you're saying just pull out of asscrackistan and let them go back to being the terrorist training ground they were before, we see how well THAT worked (during the clinton admin.....)

What did the right winger say when he saw Christ walking across the water?
"Hey, that hippy cant even swim".

There is no way to prove reality to a bunch of closed minded fools(the GOP). Anything you tell them, they find a way to deny and/or ridicule. Only dumb asses seem to get their attention and respect. phony scientists, failed businessmen, racists, sexists and god peddlers. They adore a leadership fraught with scandal, failure and incompetence only slightly more than they do trashing anyhting that works or is based on respect, looks forward or is legal.

Its so funny to see the racist/elitist bastards trying to insinuate that Obama is a terrorists or a foreigner. Ah the same ilk who break treaties, dont play fair and lose poorly. The same kind of people who wanted to eliminate the owners of the new land, the natives, or enslave the the Chinese or black man. Beat, torture, execute, invade, mismanage or misunderstand...misunderestimate...idiots.

The Coulters et al. Sad, pathetic and very stupid YankOffs. Under right wing reasoning, the CEOs of the auto makers and Wall St. did a fantastic job. It's someone eles's fault.
Got to keep kids in school and we have to stop scaring them in their formative years with boogey black/yellow man, untrue stories and religion... too bad that, after the Civil War, the winners didnt ship the bastards off to Africa to become white slaves to Obama's great grandfathers...

Here's my :
What got my attention about then Senator Obama was that he looked like my uncle... what held my attention was what he was saying.
With that being said... he is still and will always be a politician. Period. The lesser of two or maybe three evils, perhaps. But I am not looking through rose colored lenses.
Historical and cultural milestones aside (and honestly, if you don't understand the historical impact of his election, then you just won't), he has a lot of work to do... My grandma told me once to never be the first black person to do anything. Because if you ef it up, everyone will remember that you effed it up. I say, to make an omelette you have to break eggs... and if the omelette turns out great, only a few will complain about the broken eggs... and trust me, someone will always complain. Dig?

I've read so many threads that are basically prejudging the man when he hasn't had a full month on the job.

My opinion... It may take up to four years to scratch the surface of correcting the last eight years. And if he is fortunate enough to make a severe dent, he'll need another term to really put a plan into action.

I consider myself a conservative democrat (I love my guns and my wife is white) but I am patriot above that. Wanting the best for my country, I believe Prez Obama was the best person for the job, considering the selection pool.

Win, lose or draw... support your country... support your commander in chief... Do your part to make America better.

And make wheelies and great lap times in between.

Used to be you had to actually fail before people called you a failure. I guess after the eight year failed necon experiment, people no longer feel the need to wait.

Me? Judging by the man, I believe that Obama will be remembered as a great president who came at a time when we really needed one. But I'm willing to wait and see.

It's certainly too soon to call him a success. And way too soon -- and too weird-- to wishfully imagine he'll fail.

The republican party was quite different 200 years ago, as was the democratic party. They did a bit of a swaparoo where their positions on race are concerned.

Giving a few black people good positions in government and supporting policies which are beneficial to the black community are two completely different things.

No, I am talking about the right wing ass CoRky. The kind of guy who sells out his nation, friends, fellow citizens and future. You calling me on dogma..hehe.
My dogma is to remind right wingalings just how severe your mistakes and incompetence have been and are. All the time we listen to you guys postulating, accusing and speculating whilst the very things you, supposedly, cherish are being disintegrated and undermined under your uppity noses by cowards, fools and failures.

Following your(so called) logic. We should tell investigators of crimes to forget it, the crime is done, there's nothing we can do..."dont harp on this". Your logic leaves incompetent CEOs in power and also; rewards them! Your logic is to attack the things that you are afraid of because you are also afraid of learning and sharing. If we only had you guys to chose from, America would be a clone of China or Russia. I have listed the nefarious and failed logic you have championed in the past. Now, with such a great chance to move forward and to fix up, clean up and look up, you guys are chanting for Obama to fail? Wow, why am I not surprised? The economy is ruined because of this mindset. Stop searching for the elusive escape goats, your and your kiddies have done it... be half a man and own up to it.

Still cant wrap your head around credit? Still think that the collapse was someone else's fault? Just like monkey boy Bush operates, not one shred of responsibility did he take. What a thorough coward and dead beat. We know, you'd have a turd term of this weak, wank off... if you could. WTF do normal people do with that? Tolerate this? Eliminate this? Educate you guys? WTF, something has to be done because that behavior brings ruination, failure and bad health to all of us on this globe. We cannot afford your medieval mindsets any longer! The earth is NOT flat and you are not God's gift to humanity. CHurches have been proven to be the breeding grounds of ignorant, fear filled elitists and war mongers. Fabulous tennants huh?

Quote:

Thats how it is in your world huh? The black race enslaved itself now...wow.
.............(yeah, thought so)
You're my favorite revisionist coRky. You must have read Anne COulter's "History of America"
Here the GOP has a revered, guest speaker who says this:
"I think we had enough laws about the turn-of-the-century. We don't need any more." Asked how far back would she go to repeal laws, she replied, "Well, before the New Deal ... [The Emancipation Proclamation] would be a good start."
Now you have a president of color, elected by a fantastic majority, beloved by the world and yet, you, and your 22%, want him to fail and ANne Coulter, Sarah Palin and the three black members of the GOP to lead ? W> T< F> ?
The other, gigantic list of humongous failures and dtupid ideas are for another thread but, TAKE STOCK fool, you need to rethink, not counter accuse or lie.

Your world has been expurgated and justified by political preachers of hate and segregation coRky, you ooze that slime in most of your views of other countries, cultures, faiths and people. The same crap that religious leaders spew over their 'holy' books and divine rights/privledges. We have had enough Haggard/Bush/Dumsfeld/AssCroft/Limburger, et al failures...thx anyway.

You mean the kind of support Bush enjoyed for 6 months after he took office? That was an amazing six months, full of promise, compromise, hope and, above all, naivety. Even I(wow) thought I may have been wrong about the guy.... until I saw that not only is he a coward, he's a liar, a dumb ass and a thief.

Maybe if you guys stopped claiming Bush was a success and shouting for Obama to fail, you could see the light.

Oh please, had it been Clinton that had done it you'd be singing a very different tune right now.

Also, I say holding ppl down with BS social programs, that doesnt encourage them to get an education or develop trade skill, is LESS beneficial for the black community, let's call it for what it is, democrats need the minorities to stay poor, otherwise they may begin to lose their voter base.

GOG do you know anything about Obama ....his backround, influences, anything ? Or do you just spend all of your time bashing the other side? All of this talk about people chanting for Obama to fail but I have yet to hear from you one positive thing he will do for our country. Not his supposed CHANGE. Something real that will make an impact in a good way for the country as a whole. I would be completely open minded to his ideas and would love to support the guy as he is the Prez. Nobody WANTS Obama to fail. Nobody WANTS America to fall. Its just that based on Obama's inexperience, scary backround and influences, and the fact that he proposes things like a trillion dollar bailout that as any live person can decipher is a lagh at best, we (that 22% you spoke of [that did a little homework]) are afraid for our country at this point in time. Now dont get me wrong, tons of people would be bad-talking Mcain too and I am positive he would not have had all of the answers either, but I am confident that much of the bashing toward him would have been generated by our media rather than actual fact-based opinions from average people.
