A lot of us love weapons (me included) but it takes a certain amount of personal growth to realize that the fascination is a mental/emotional fault. We are not perfect, and you have succumbed to an irrational craving, which shows your weakness. For the same amount of money you could have bought a piece of art, for instance, which makes a positive contribution to society and which, if chosen wisely, quite possibly could rise in value significantly. I doubt that will happen with your weapons. In fact, there is the chance that they could get you in deep doo-doo if they fall into the wrong hands or who knows what. Each time you buy one of those you are taking a step backwards, or lower. The same goes for Pit Bulls or cigarettes. Just my .

Speaking of art, my wife and I are into this guy from Hawaii by way of Israel. We bought two of his oils about ten years ago for around $2,500 each. Now they are worth around $15,000 each. I probably shouldn't be preaching to you but pissing your money away on addrenaline is, well, pissing your money away. I'm sure you'll have fun but, hey, so do I.

Check it out - click on oils, in the gallery section:

Avi Kiriaty - Fine Artist - Hawaii

By the time I die I'm hoping my kids will get a hundred grand out my wisdom.

Want to invest in a fantastic rising artist? She was named by Art News Daily as "One of 5 Artists to watch in '08", was also chosen by Donald Trump as one of 4 artists to launch his new home decor (a-la Martha Stewart) and was chosen to do the cover shot for the catalog. Her earlier pieces have appreciated 10 fold in 5 years, check out Ricki Mountain - Ricki Mountain_Abstract Painter_Abstract Art_Abstract Limited Edition. All purchases are greatly appreciated as they help by hubby more toys! Gotta agree, art is a great investment if chosen wisely, but not nearly as fun to play with as a bad ass Smith & Wesson penis extension!

what you stated was not a opinion, but a sign. a sign of your ignorance and that you know very little about me. lets start with me being a classicly trained cellist with a degree in music theory and i spin clay in my basement

so, since enjoy the sport of shooting, which i have for 25+ years i have succumbed to fears? you sir are the one a lil shaky, i sleep very sound.

just like all motorcyclist are thugs and speeders.

classic book and cover, maybe you should turn a few pages before you start burning them.

Haha. I tell you a great help with throwing is to make absolutely sure that you clay is wedged, mixed, kneaded and fully homogenized. Cover it up when it is sitting waiting to be thrown. Air currents can dry out one side of the ball of clay and make throwing uneven.
I usually put a million layers into a ball of clay(cept smaller things) and then I knead those layers into a spiral that 'unravel' as the pot walls are being pulled.

Instead of water, try using a wet slip to lubricate the pot's walls. At least do this after getting the mass centered. This takes time but gives your pots oodles more wall strength. The water, if it drenches the clay, penetrates the walls and leaves the walls weak. This makes it hard to make thin, light pots.

Watch a few wood lathe workers to see how stiff your hands must be to 'pot the pot'! They use a mounted, fixed point for the cutting blade... your fingers are that point in clay and your body, and it's triangles, are the mount. Make note of the many triangles you body makes between your joints and limbs when you are at your wheel.. use these triangles in concert for POWER and CONTROL!

Let me know if you are stuck at any point. I help a few peeps with pottery.

My style is not for everyone. I like my pots centered, light weight and dynamically symmetric in the form.
Post up a pic of what you're doing!

I do this stuff but I also do teapots and mugs etc. Its hand painted and hand thrown, once fired.

BTW... I have a love/hate thing with guns. Some of them are truly, works of art and tech! I do get very sad when I think of them killing people or being used by stupid people to kill/rule smart people.

Well, nice to meet you. There is always more to a book than what's on the cover, sometimes I forget that. But I still don't get the purchase of something that is designed to put a bunch of holes in people, even if it has a big fun quotient. Are you sure your ego isn't running the show? If you're not the type of guy who drives an old pickup truck with expired plates and two pitbulls tied up in the back, with a toothless methhead girlfriend at your side then my appologies. Your weapon lust led me in that direction.

Shit, after your description I expected that work to be way out of my price range, but then I see that they are super cheap. I really like a few of them...hmmm. Why are the prices so low? That seems like a no-brainer. Like a Sam Madoff no-brainer? Maybe I'll look into it.

By the way, my penis extension is a 9mm Luger, 1939 edition. Inherited it from an uncle. I sometimes carry it because I work in the woods a lot and there are more and more mountain lions around, not to mention the pot farming Mexican mafiosos. Sometimes I get a little nervous with just a three-inch pocketknife. (But I'm still not dope enough to purchase something that is more suited for killing Palestinian children ).

Gog!

Are you telling us that YOU made that pot?
I'm calling big-time BS until you link up a website or something.
It's either:
1. How stupid do you think we are?

or

2. You're a real pro.

Prices are "low" because that link is for one of her sites that sells primaraly giclee's and prints, hense the low price. If you Google "Ricki Mountain", you will see several pages of sites selling her work, some prints and various forms of reproductions (tapestrys, tableware, wallpaper etc.) Other venues offer original works at "somewhat higher" pricepoints. She's currently working on a project for Dubai World Towers. She also has dozens of pieces placed on various TV shows and feature films. TV/movie work is cool 'cause they lease the work instead of buying it, so in a year you get it back, and they've paid virtually full price for a piece you can sell again. The market for prints is huge (more people can afford 'em), you can't swing a dead cat in Bed Bath and Beyond, or Macys without seeing one of 'em. Her philosophy is "sell to the masses, dine with the classes". It's nice to sell those $25,000 originals, but having several royalty checks show up for those prints you only make .50 each, but sold 20,000 of come in handy too! Lemme know if there's somethin ya like, I can get you a deal (I sleep with the artist....... )

Cheers,
-Rocky-

Nice work Rocky, tell her I said so. Has she ever painted ceramic? A lot of artists have painted pottery at some point in their career . I have done several collaborations myself, I made the vase and a painter painted it.

Speaking of discomboobulated mixmatch... how's this for a cello? The violin is killing my elbow so... I am trying to trade for a half decent cello... not this one, it's thousands too much.
