Default The Bush legacy continues to grow

I don't want to start a big pissing match about Bush but there is no Bush thread to put this in so...from today's paper.

"EPA Changes Mining Rule

The Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday approved a last-minute rule change by the Bush administration that will allow coal companies to bury streams under the rocks left over from mining.
The 1983 rule prohibited dumping the fill from mountaintop removal mining within 100 feet of streams. In practice, the government hadn't been enforcing the rule. Government figures show that 535 miles of streams were buried or diverted from 2001 to 2005, more than half of them in the mountains of Appalachia. With the loss of the streams has come an increase of erosion and flooding.
The 11th-hour change before President George W. Bush leaves office would eliminate a tool citizens groups have used in lawsuits to keep waste out of streams. Mining companies had been pushing for the change for years."

This reminds me of a 60 Minutes story that ran around 2004. You see, Bush has emaciated the EPA. They are now nothing more than a hollow front for industry that is lax in regulation and cow-tows to big business. The 60 Minutes story was about an Appalachina valley that was flooded after a talings settlement pond broke through into a mine that was being dug too close to the bottom of the pond. The pond's black gunk went out the mine and down a creek, flloding homes and polluting miles of inhabitted area - many people lost their homes and land. The EPA was not enforcing the distance that a mine could approach one of these settling ponds - yet more Bush repurcussion. There are other stories like this too - such as the miners who were killed by the explosion caused by lightening - again, lack of enforcement of safety regulations.

Now Bush thinks it's okay to fill in streams with loose debris! The man is an absolute moron. That sediment will go downstream, fill in creeks, then cause flooding. How much is it going to cost us taxpayers to clean up after this damn fool? It's no wonder he didn't give a shit about Katrina.

Bush is a humongous fool. He's such an idiot. Listening to him make excuses and attempt to be intelligent... absolutely sickening. I cant wait till he's gone. He has damaged America more than anybody. Him and his greedy flock of fvckers. I get sick to my guts thinking about the neocon right trying to sell Palin as good for America. She's the same, stupid asshole in a skirt. Stupid, ignorant, incompetent and greedy beotches!

He[Bush] should go to jail for his lying and all his failures. The truly scary part is that he's not finished. The Presidential pardons will be his last act of treachery against your great nation. I hope he gets arrested with Cheney on some golf/hunting trip abroad. It'd be nice to know he was locked inside a creepy jail in Tripoli or Damascus or, think of it, to know he was 'rendered' useless forever by the same, nefarious means he championed... that wold be sublime justice!

Indeed it would, Gog. I'd raise hell if we tried to rescue these scoundrels from your hypothetical. It most certainly would be their just reward. God, I wish I had saved all the disgusting stories that I've read about Bush over the years. I could fill ten pages at Speedzilla with the stupidity and greed. It was like twice a week there would be some form of chicanery or malfeasance being snuck by us. They care about one thing above all else - big business. They are products of that circle. To top it off neither of them wanted to serve their country when needed. Kerry, on the other hand, went to Nam and saved people asses, not that I'm a big fan of Kerry. But at least he's a man.

I am not sure what/how I qualify in regards to "liberal", "conservative" blah blah. I just know that this person is a sad excuse for a man. He's more like a manchild. I saw this fool's "wisdom" interview.
When juxtaposed to this tripe he lies about... "stay the course". Thats like saying a mentally retarded baby should "stay the course". What the hell else can it do? He is a dangerous felon who will be exposed for the damage he has done..incalculable...sad...unnecessary.

Where were the objectors on the right? Too busy warring, cheating, gloating, condescending, dismissing and listening to idiot(bought and paid for)science, fool preachers and screaming about all the "unAmericans" that surround them.

Stay the course = Buck Fush

You can take any number of legitimate shots at Bush, but Billy boy takes the cake, sheeez, talk about a White House for sale.........

I agree Rocky. Just for the record. The praise for Clinton is for doing a half decent job as Prez. His personality leaves something to be desired. That pardon Clinton Gave "the Rich" was scandalous and he's probably receiving the payoffs about now.
We're finding out that politicians everywhere are pretty slimy. North, South, East and West.
