Default Credit where due...

McCain was hilarious. I didnt even want to laugh but he and Obama were brilliant last night at the charity ball. It made me wish that McCain didnt pick the funniest joke of all for VP.... Palin
I was happy to see respect between the two rivals and I hope Americans get more than 59.5 percent general election turnout this election...
I am ashamed of my fellow citizens for not voting...

Colin Powell endorses Obama - CNN.com

Unlike the sac of crap Cundi Rice, Colin Powell resigned and bowed his head in shame for hi role in the unAmerican debacle that was the Bush administration. I give him credit for being a man and aceppting his glaring mistakes and poor accociation choices. He knows how badly Cheney and Bush frugged America. He knows that Obama is the smarter man with the "right stuff". He refused to tow the lie like Rice did. He is not a neocon...he has honor.

Let's not forget that it was Powell who 'sold' the need for the invasion of Iraq at the UN. If he had any honour he would have refused to go through that particular charade. He was prepared to do the neocons' dirty work.

I suppose that, ideally, voters would make their choice and also contribute regularly to campaigns, debates, operations, and verify the conduct of their representatives. This really doesn't happen in big numbers...So, if at least if 85-90% voted we could excuse more people for being uninvolved and completely apathetic post election.

Winning an election by 55 to 45% of a turnout of 60% is not a majority of the public and technically, not a democracy. I think turnout is important and a real indication of the health and status of a nation.

Granted, there really are soo many lying dickwad politicians on all sides, it's hard to believe anything they say or do but, anarchy is so overrated.

Let's not forget that Powell was GUARENTEED, by Tenet, that the intel was accurate. Powell obviously didn't trust the sources but he works for the President and he is a soldier - he does what he is told. The President and Tenet were working closely together on fabricating their NEED for war. Tenet said it was a slam dunk. Tenet did what Cheney and Shrub wanted. So did Powell. But Powell wasn't in the loop on fabricated evidence. That's what gets Powell off the hook.

Either, 1. You are surprisingly misinformed...

or

2. If Powell had endorsed McCain you'd be telling the truth and posting the same thing that I posted in response to soslow.
