Default For country, or for self?

Looks increasingly obvious that the major difference (anong many) between the 2 viable contenders for president is one of them wants to serve his nation (again) and the other wants to be President of the United States of America. McCain is willing to place the debates and campaigning on hold to adress the fiscal meltdown, while Hussein wants to play politics as usual......

I'm a certified pyro! But like "they" say, winning an internet argument is like winning a gold medal in the Special Olympics. (No, I take that back, the kids in the S.O. deserve their medals, never ment to disparage them, they're ALL great kids!)

It looks like both of them are going back to Washington. Hmmmmm, if they have to suspend their campaigns to go act like Senators, then why are we still calling them Senators? They obviously can't be Presidential Candidates AND Senators, so they should pick a job already.

If you take away Obama's time spent campaigning from his time spent as Senator, has he even been a Senator?

Once again, McCain is doing anything BUT acting conservative. He's racing back to Washington to collect votes for this bogus bailout -- public sentiment be damned, along with any notions of accountability, responsibility, or constitutionality.

It will be interesting to see if McCain shows up for the debate.

If he doesn't show then my interest will be in how the handling from each side is perceived. McCain may look more "Presidential" by foregoing the debate, at great political risk to him, to actually do his current job.

If I had to guess though, I would say late tomorrow morning McCain will declare that the process is far enough along in DC that he can leave for a few hours to debate in Mississippi. But a part of me would love to have him stay on Capitol Hill all night Friday working to get this piece of legislation hammered out and leave Obama talking to himself. Obama has already said that he will be at his lecturn Friday night no matter what.

Any truth to the rumor that Hussein Obama has tapped Cindy (gag, puke!) Sheehan as Scty. of Defense?
(and Michael (liar!) Moore as Scty. of State!)

well it appears that they talked for a week and a half and someone listened to what was being said and they actually got something done. It will be interesting if McCain can multitask his way to the debate.

As I see it the job of president does not have any time off, or any defined workplace. They need to be able to address any issue at any place at anytime.

Presidential...lol

Hahahaha Now now, we really know why the Son of Cain doesn't want to debate Barack. The same reason Phil Mickleson doesn't want to play Tiger. Same reason every white, lame ass boxer was afraid of Mike Tyson. Same reason "wiggers" are so lame.

To say McCain is doing a great thing to not show for a Presidential debate is to say he's better than democracy or American political protocol. Usher in another failure based on lies and lame assness! Ra Ra for a soccer mom for president... what an insult to all things American. James Madison would have slapped McCain upside of the head for not debating for the masses and threatening to put a lame ass, holy roller in a position to "finish off" the USA...and the rest of us...
You fools are just sad.

God damned right! This endless campaigning drives me crazy. Are they Senators or not? The campaign cycle should be six months and that's it, no more. These F-ing politicians need to be in Washington doing their job and not out fundraising, pressing flesh, flying all over the place, it's just a big waste of our time, focus, performance, and of course money. The same goes for what presidents do. Every time the president flys he has a support plane (maybe two - I can't remember). They bring cars and all kinds of shit that costs us something like $17,000 per hour even when they are not flying. Air Force One and what it is used for (primarily fundraising trips) is one of the best examples of wastefull government spending that there is. George Shrub was in Napa Valley this summer and I swear there must have been two hundred cop cars along their five mile drive (probably 3/4 of them came from a great distance away). ALL side roads were closed. The entire area was twice shut down for an hour even though there are crowds of people already here trying to go about their normal business. And there is not one goddam terrorist/assassine anywhere near here. That was the most arrogant display of paranoid elitism I've ever witnessed.

Damn, I'm mad, these F-ing politicians and CEO's are just successful turds.

On not attending the debate, I don't get it. The concept makes sense but the reality is that neither of them will make or break the deal. Being in Washington is strictly for p.r. purposes. I'm more concerned about who will lead us out of this (predominately Republican ) mess.

He contributes to global warming...even though it doesn't exist (except that every scientist not on corporate payroll says it does). Still confused?

Don't need to bury Republicans, all that greasy fat will burn right now.

I went back and read your original post, Jocky, and it gives me a good laugh . You're trying so hard to start something. For country, or for self? Hah, hah, hah. Do you have a fantasy-daddy John McCain blow-up doll under your bed?

I try to listen to Rush sometimes, just like I try to listen to every side of everything. The one thing that I get out of it is that there is no there there. There is so little actual information on that show. There is plenty of ranting by an opinionated blowhard but that's about it.

Very insightful comrade, to "start something" is EXACTLY what I was trying to do......isn't that the whole point of this "room"? And as I said, I believe one cantidate truly feels the need to continue to serve his country, the other sees it as the means to an end.

Sure, John McCain has no ego. Yeah, right.

They both want to improve America and they both want to pad their resumes. I'm not buying the McCain "doing it ONLY for my country" pitch. He's attempting to take his experiences in Vietnam and parlay them into an aura. All the while ignoring the psychological damage that was probably done. Is he gonna have a flashback and push the button if he has a bad dream about communists? At 72 any number of things could misfire in that brain.
