It isn't just him saying your global view is wrong, it is the whole scientific community, but there are many who still believe that the earth is only 6000 years old too in spite of science, so you definitely are not alone when you believe a belief over science.
So what?
They start the treaty in a handicap, why do people shout this out like they are making a valid point not to do it altogether?
I'm not sure what belief you are inserting to that statement, but please share how this is a relevant case against Kyoto?
Arrogance is on your side friend.

So according to your logic, anyone who thinks the earth is round would be arrogant because there is no consensus...
You cannot argue against indisputable facts. The earth is round, so that is a terrible example. But to say that the WHOLE scientific community is in congruity about Global Warming is quite ignorant and maybe even close minded? Or are liberals incapable of being close minded? I get confused sometimes....
Obviously he doesn't actually want to change his lifestyle, he wants to change others' lifestyles at the cost of their financial hardship. He can pontificate all he wants, but the fact checkers who watched that movie have already de-bunked this douche bag's agenda.

For one you are preaching that there is no consensus on global warming, I just showed you that there are people that say the earth is flat so there is no consensus on that either, proving that all it takes is a frivolously small amount of people saying something else to make something non consensus.
So the term phrase "no consensus" is completely irrelevant.
And you can attack me all you want, it does not change the "fact" that only a very small fraction of the scientific community go against global warming as being a real threat enhanced by human caused emissions.
And the "fact" that most (if not all) that do go against global warming are all paid directly or indirectly by Exxon.
But your head is so far up your ass that you feel you must jump over mountains of facts to find small scraps of anti global warming propaganda to prove your right, but if you spent 1% of that doubt you have for global warming being real, on looking at the completely off the wall hack science you are defending you would instantly see it is all bullshit.
I have my doubts about some of you actually wanting to really debate this, VS. being some paid off propagandist.
There is no one smart enough to use a computer that can be so stupid.

Can someone who says that the earth is flat make an argument or present any minute bit of information that proves them to be even remotely correct?
Remember, I'm not the one who made that comparison, you did. ANd by making that comparison you are deligitimizing anyone's stance who does not believe that we are affecting our planet as much as you say we are.
Who's paying the scientists that aren't in the front pockets of BBO??
So scientists who get their funding from oil/energy companies are evil. But, those who get their funding from government grants aren't . You lefties are amusing , but transparent . The "greens" are just the anti-capitalists (reds) repackaged.

How is he a hypocrite?
Al Gore runs a political office, if they are going to compare him to anything it should be to a nationally known business.
I would hope some of that $30,000 was from solar panel, or windmill installation though, it would seem weak to preach about energy consumption and not make any efforts to thwart it oneself.
But I also will not support the ad hominem that I know will be made over this article, and I will call it out so don't even bother.
This is FREAKING HILARIOUS!!!!!
These guys will go at great lengths to dig up anything they can to make a conservative look bad but when the opposite occurs what BS we must take in. LMAO!!!!
Only in America can some tool preach about some topic and do whatever the hell they want and NOT be held accountable for it. Namely liberals.........cuz anyone else........ they get taken for a ride publicly. This guy wants US to pay up and reduce OUR habits in an attempt to curb GW when he, himself and 99.9% of the Halfwits, dont do a freaking thing to change their OWN lifestyle.
And then we have to listen to the forum puppets who idolize these ppl and they will actually make excuses for them as if these entertainers give a rats ass about them. Too funny!
How many limo's do you guys think pulled up to that award show lastnight? (gas guzzlers no?)
How many of those tools do you think flew to the event in their private jet? (hmmmm are they running electric jets these days cutter boy?)
How many mansions does Mr. Inconvenient Truth own?
How many mansions do the ppl who support the liberal agenda own? (How much energy is being wasted at each of these mansions while there NOT there?......who cares right?)
How can any SHEEPLE out there get lulled by these ppl into wanting change or making the government make the changes when the majority of these ppl dont even walk the talk themselves?!?!?
I have no clue but one of the sheeps will be here shortly to twist my words around.
Now, I know I post a decent amount of columns that aren't really fair and balanced but I really, really enjoyed reading this one. Just a tad bit long, but jam packed with substance.

I suppose the term "conflict of interest" never managed to seep into your fairy tale reality...
Why would that honest billion dollar empire want to keep the truth from us about global warming...?
Hmmn, because if it was really bad they would admit it and give up billions of dollars in profits, because it is unheard of to think people would lie for money, it's just a couple billions dollars, why would anyone bother with telling fibs for a couple billion dollars, really.
Not to mention the whole scientific world is all a bunch of anti capitalist liberals that hate America, yah, that's a reasonable assumption.
And if anything bad does come of it God will rapture me up from our own self deception, win win!
Cutter, I guess they work on the assumption that if they have loads of cash, they can all build boats, or go live in the mountains, as the plains slowly disappear under the waves.
Maybe they think that rich people don't die when Tsunamis or abnormally large tempests tear into their little guarded enclaves to keep out the proles ?
To the guys like Nero, Dan, XFBO and the other "free-thinkers", my lifestyle and my passion involves and revolves around burning large quantities of hydrocarbon based fuel as efficiently as possible, for pure entertainment and fun, because racing brings relatively few advances to the Human race these days, except a lot of viewing and aural pleasure, and arguments about Nicky Hayden on web forums.
I don't want to give this up, but as I reviewed and sifted through the information I found about global warming, cooling, whatever blows your whistle, I found that the doomsayers seem to be closest to the mark, and my own observations about the weather, and my resources concerning Human pollution and effects on the environment bore this out. So far everything you guys have linked or posted has been either dramatically biased, or uninformed and inconclusive. (Antarctica ice growing )
I'm making efforts to change my lifestyle, to become more aware and responsible for my actions, and to try and increase awareness in people around me. When you see the effects that a lot of people all doing small things can have on the environment, it's quite amazing. Maybe it serves nothing. Maybe the climate change is irreversable, and all life on Earth is on it's last legs. Or maybe not. In any case, I'll do my little bit to try and ensure a future for my and others children. You guys do whatever the hell you want.
If you're right and I'm wrong, at least the planet will be better off after my passing. If I, and all those other scientists and climate specialists are right, and you and your oil-company scientists are wrong, I guess you'll occupy a similar place in history that the proponents of the slave-trade have. Self-interested assholes who denied their Humanity for a quick profit.
le kiwi and cutter,
You guys are spewing constantly the catch-phrases & diatribe of the far left. Awareness , globalism, sustainable , outreach, irreversible ...
You're becoming mindless zombies. C'mon guys, use your heads, think for yourselves. Le kiwi, you might have one point right. "at least the planet will be better off after my passing"...

Have a nice day.
Kiwi, are you a religious person? What I mean is do you believe in Heaven and Hell, and specifically a prescribed path to the former?
The reason I ask this is because you have described above an analogous statement to the divine wager. Basically why not believe in God because the upside is pretty good if he exists and causes no harm if he doesn't. OTOH the downside is much worse if he exists and you don't believe.
I'm not going to put words in your mouth concerning religion, other than to make my point that man's belief that he can in fact cool the planet with his behavior approaches faith rather than scientific law at the end of the day. As some have said, greenunism has replaced religion for many people.
If we could magically stop all greenhouse gasses from human sources, and solar radiation increases continue, the Earth will continue to warm. The same scientists that demonize CO2 concede there have been periods of warming and cooling before humans.
BTW, I'm all for conservation where it is smart and doesn't impact productivity. Increasing the efficiency of any process is a good thing assuming the marginal cost of that efficiency increase isn't prohibitive. However, it makes little sense to pass draconian laws concerning use of fossil fuels in the US, when literally billions of people around the world don't have to play by the same rules. China and India specifically. The pollution in the three cities we visited in China last year was incredible.

I know, sorry for posting real links by real scientists and listening to what they are saying in spite of feel good interests.
I do not want global warming to be real, I wish it was fake.
But me believing it isn't real, isn't going to make it not real...
Just like me believing isn't going to turn the moon into cheese.
If there was a oil interest in saying the moon is made of cheese you guys would be all standing together backing up that idea like it is gold.
I favor majority of the scientific community, and cannot look past that the only scientist that disagree with global warming are in the pockets of oil companies, I really don't understand how this isn't obvious to you guys.
Nor do I understand the logic of not doing anything about it for the sole reason that India and China are making a smaller effort then us, since when did we start waiting for those countries before we move on with our lives?
Oops, sorry guys...
Can't give you your tax returns until September of 2012 because that's how China and India do it, and we can't do anything without them on board...
Oh yah, we all have to eat raw fish and curry because we can only do what China and India are doing...
It would be different if you guys could actually make a real case, but it's been a long time with nothing but frivolous crap from hack scientists that also say cigarettes and fertilizers are great your body, and the stand alone almost credible scientist you come up with is just a meteorologist that more then likely has a connection to Exxon.
Do you guys believe cigarettes are healthy for you?
Do you believe fertilizers are good for your body?
Because the exact same unpublished scientist that say cigarettes are good for you, fertilizers are good for you, they get a check in the mail and they are done until the next paycheck comes, these are the scientists, the same geologist specialists that say global warming isn't real, then they say it's real but not a threat, then they say it is a threat but we can't do anything about it.
How in hell could you take these guys serious, but discredit 99 percent of the real scientists?
You assume that the whole world is nothing but scientists trying to get more grants in a mass deception ploy, but refuse to look at how obnoxiously unbalanced and absurd that concept is!
There is no way you guys are that stupid, you have to be paid propagandist.

I agree totally with the last paragraph. I also agree that there have been cooling and warming periods before, and that generally, the Sun is getting hotter as it burns up it's fuel. I also maintain and stand by the fact that our burning of hydrocarbons, and the associated HUMAN impact on the ecology around us is NOT a natural event, and has never had a "natural" equivalent, and is now a quantifiable and definate impact on our ecosphere. The repercussions are, I agree, impossible to define clearly, because nothing like this has EVER happened before, on such a planetary scale. It's not JUST the US that produces pollution leading to greenhouse gas...
My understanding as well of the Kyoto accords was that carbon trading (or swapping pollution points...) was supposed to even out the obvious inequality between already developed and developing nations. I still haven't found a simple response to "how does it work ?", because it looks like a horribly complex scheme, but that's maybe because it is a horribly complex scheme...
As for reversing the effects of the climate change we've accelerated and enhanced, I don't know thats possible. For me it's now about stabilising or compensating, rather than increasing the effect by doing nothing.
Most of my beef is that people deny that there is a problem, and people in denial don't prepare for eventualities, because "Hey, what problem....?"
And preparation is what we need, and understanding of the things to come. Because things are not going to get better, the 4 seasons are on the way out, and Mother Nature is going to get pissed. Whether the full effects will be felt in 2 years, 10 years or 100 years, I don't know, but the World is changing, and I think it would be a sage decision to change with it. Most people have NO idea of how fragile our ecosystem and survival on this planet is. They may be about to find out the hard way.....
As for religion, I'm a deeply spiritual person, but have never found a Human religion that doesn't seek political or moral power over me, excepting possibly the Baha'i faith, or Buddhism.
All the rest are corrupted and hollow shells open to manipulation, despite the beauty and grace of the Original intention. JMHO
Whats wrong with common sense anyway ?
Who gives a shit? Seriously, I don't care about global warming. At all. And if you do, you probably have too much time on your hands. Most of us are worried about day-to-day real life.
Like any other issue, you have big-government socialist weenies who allow themselves to be scared into believing the hype, because they don't mind letting others make decisions for them (and something about this issue gives them a warm fuzzy feeling). Then you have more responsible conservative folks who favor a smaller government and don't believe the weenies have any right to impose more restrictions on their good life.
Let's just say the weenies are right. So? You can be right all day long, but you still don't have any realistic proposals for fixing the situation. So give it a rest for now!
The answer is not an anti-America pact like Kyoto. And making me drive a hybrid or a bicycle isn't going to do anything, either. So why don't you worry about important issues until there really is a consensus... AND A PLAN.
Until then, go plant a tree, drive a hybrid, buy a Gore-sanctioned pollution voucher, or do whatever else makes you feel good. But leave me and Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi and Arnold alone with our big carbon footprints. The only difference between me and them is that I'm not trying to scare you into doing something you don't want to do. And I'm not a complete hypocrite.

Well I exposed the flaws of a lot of that logic that you are using in my past couple posts alone, but one thing I can respect is that you just don't care, at least the truth is finally shining through.
If you don't care about global warming, fine.
Just don't spew garbage science that tries to sway people from the truth.
You guys talk about global warming like it is hype not be listened to, then you say let everyone make their own decisions about it, all the while you are fighting tooth and nail to convince people it's not real.
