Jeez vape, that woman really has left an imprint on you. Get over it. She's off the radar screen. Maybe you got burned on a dime bag of smokey stuff from Alaska that has you so jaded.

Just to jack goggy and vape up:

Americans are less concerned about environmental issues than they've been in 20 years or more, a new poll from Gallup shows.
The shift in public attitude could mean people think environmental conditions are improving or simply that economic concerns vastly outweigh nervousness about issues like global warming and water pollution. Or both.
The poll asked people whether they worry a "great deal" about eight distinct environmental issues -- the percentage that answered yes was lower than last year in every category. For all but two categories, global warming and fresh water supply maintenance, the number was the lowest since Gallup started measuring 20 years ago.
The survey data could help explain why the urgency behind enacting comprehensive climate change legislation appears to have waned. A bill passed the House last year but the Senate has not approved anything similar -- inaction by the U.S. Senate was considered an obstacle to seeking a global climate treaty in Copenhagen in December.
According to the Gallup poll, 28 percent of people view global warming as a major concern. That's down from 35 percent in 1989 and 33 percent just last year. The low point came in 1997, when 24 percent of people listed the issue as a major worry.
On other issues, public concern has plummeted. Seventy-two percent of Americans said they were very concerned, for instance, about water pollution in lakes and rivers in 1989. In 2010, that number is 46 percent.
The survey of 1,014 adults was taken March 4-7. It had a margin of error of 4 percentage points.

Default Green Crooks

Funny how their self righteous psychology works.
But we knew that already.

March 18, 2010 10:06 AM EDT by John Stossel
Green Crooks

People who commit their lives to going green are just better people. They're more moral, more honest. At least, they keep telling us that, and apparently many students believe it, say University of Toronto psychologists:
They initially quizzed the students on their impressions of people who buy eco-friendly products, and for the most part, they considered such consumers to be more “more cooperative, altruistic and ethical” than ordinary consumers...
Then the researchers took it an extra step: They ran a test to see who would be more likely to cheat and steal: Greens? Or conventional shoppers?
They divided the greens and conventional shoppers, and then gave the students a test that tempted them to steal money. The researchers found:
The green consumers were more likely to cheat than the conventional purchasers, and they stole more money when asked to withdraw their winnings from envelopes on their desks.
This concept of moral license has been demonstrated before, writes Wray Herbert in his blog for the Association for Psychological Science.
(W)hen they have reason to feel a little superior, that positive self image triggers a sense of moral license. That is, the righteous feel they have some latitude to stray a bit in order to compensate. It’s like working in a soup kitchen gives you the right to cheat on your taxes later in the week.
Maybe that’s why sanctimonious stewards of the environment like Al Gore are comfortable lecturing the rest of us while living large in mega-mansions.

Did you read it?

If 'Yes' - do you comprehend?
If 'Yes' - do you agree?

Woke up this morning, first day of spring, to 6" of fresh powder.
Officially a new all time record for DFW snowfall.

This may no big deal to you guys up north, but here in Texas it's bizarre. Only the TRULY EPIC STUPID will claim it's proof of MMGW.

Your turn, Gog...

Everything in Texas is bizarre. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.
Oh, except for the barbeque. That's just wicked.

A man will embrace ass-cake religion with a fanatical lust, deny its failings, ignore it wrongs, refuse nonreligious discovery, attack science, learn that little boys are being attacked by priests and pedophiles, turn a blind eye and yet, when you simply tell him to get ready for extremes of climate change.. he continues with his ignorance... (BUT OF COURSE)!
I dunno Nero, I guess we'll have to wait a few more years until you, yourself are deeply affected before we hear the inevitable 'flipflop', 'switch' talk. Then the crying starts, then the blaming starts and then the revisionists tell you you did nothing wrong and baby Jesus loves you.....
What part of the predicted, forewarned 'unforseen and previously unseen, and unparalleled weather patterns' dont you get? Up North, we virtually didnt get a winter moron....but thats just a Medieval flashback huh?
Your party is too busy to bother with our life support system, with important things like where a man's penis belongs, what the lesbians are up to, me more and mine, and how to defeat the evil Muslims....

Sorry Nero, I dont mean to be so caustic and specific AND I dont really mean you specifically. With all the politics going on, a lot of us tend to generalize and personalize at the same time, I do it more than you I know.

All I can do is try to do it less and less.

Default Hong Kong's air pollution reaches record levels

BBC News - Hong Kong's air pollution reaches record levels

It's to painfully obvious that the Chinese and the republicans think alike... They will be 'alarmists' when alarming 'mists' are in their midst... If they can see it.. they can shoot it I suppose. The idea of climate science or simple common sense is just too un-Chinese for them...

That's some scary shit right there, Gog. Tell me, what is it about people and pollution? There must be a connection.

Shit, you don't ever want to be like nero though, believe me. nero is...zero. The only reason he isn't less than zero is that he eats and shits just like the rest of us.

The problem with 'zero's' emissions? Once you get to the truth about climate... you know, the 'reality' of it...you're then faced with the same battle to fight water pollution, air pollution et al. They will deny deny deny until its so damn dangerous and expensive... then they will blame blame blame others...arrrgh! The 'personal responsibility' thing is buried under a tomb of stupid claims and denials...

If a metaphors, anecdote or parables were understood by right wingers, we might be able to 'kill two birds with one stone'

Default Disputed isle in Bay of Bengal disappears into sea

The Associated Press: Disputed isle in Bay of Bengal disappears into sea
Quote:
"What these two countries could not achieve from years of talking, has been resolved by global warming," said Hazra.
Scientists at the School of Oceanographic Studies at the university have noted an alarming increase in the rate at which sea levels have risen over the past decade in the Bay of Bengal.
Until 2000, the sea levels rose about 3 millimeters (0.12 inches) a year, but over the last decade they have been rising about 5 millimeters (0.2 inches) annually, he said.
It's these kind of changes the dumb ass deniers will be reprehensibly ill prepared for. An island slipping under the ocean is relatively benign... Derelict in their information and comprehension, they politicize that which they know nothing about... Typical really, they fear fear itself and want to lock down the nation..and the world. They are the antithesis of freedom and evolution... er. um. ah...progressive evolution.......

The right wing seems to be the ones who want to fight for the old, primitive 'way'... that is sinking... we all know how poorly they preform in a sinking situation!

If only we could jail those arrogant, lying twats who, through blatant delay and dereliction, cost us all(critters included) lives, habitat, resources, security and prosperity... Does anyone need a list? Alas, they will find the rat-holes they pre-prepared.... When 'nobody' was looking...
