Default TT2 cam specs and timing - questions

Hi,

Does anyone have the "facts" about TT2 cams, like lift, lobe centres and timing? I have cams which are allegedly TT2 but am having difficulty identifying them or getting reliable info on what the cam specs are supposed to be. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Default Valve timing

I was waiting for an expert to reply to you; I guess there isn't one. On Page 13 of Falloon's Ducati Belt Drive restoration book he states lift as 12mm on the intakes, and 10mm on the exhaust, and on Page 212 he lists timing as 90-92 on the intakes, and 100-64 on the exhausts. There is a math formula for finding lobe centers, but that is an item of choice to some degree. That's what little I can find.

Thanks, man. I've actually got that book myself, however, I don't think my cams are exactly like that - they are more radical on the lift but appear to have the same duration (I must check them again). I was hoping for some more info on the cams as not much out of Italy at the time had the greatest documentation or regularity of manufacture. I guess that is one of the beautiful challenges of old Italian shit. To a degree...

Did you try Brad at MotoOne, right in your neck of the woods?
