Default narrowcase motor on widecase frame?

Can i drop a narrowcase motor into widecase frame? and does the widecase allow for a wider rear wheel? wider motor mounts...is the rest of the frame significantly different?

Hi, Anything is possible, but drop is the right word,as it will pass right through onto the floor! The widecase frame + engine are stiffer (stronger) than the narrowcase, however they are also heavier (by several pounds-larger sump, more oil capacity).
For this reason most classic racers go for the narrowcase models, as the weight saving is worth having.
On the other hand the widecase motors are less fragile. You pay your money and make your choice.

N/C rear mounts are drastically different in the rear top/bottom mounting positions -- not even close. W/C frame has a different backbone structure and has more outside support -- stronger but much uglier looking.

I just swapped a W/C for a N/C for a project I have underway with a custom frame. Also building a cafe racer for a customer with a W/C that uses the W/C frame with the rear revamped to get a cleaner more sparse look.

If you have a 350cc N/C and want to swap it for a 350cc N/C -- e-mail myself.

Hi Greg,

I think I tried to buy one of your bikes last year. I'd e-mail you but my computer crashed some time ago and I lost your messages/address.

I can't get it from your profile here because your settings don't allow it to be shared....

My former email service seems to have shut down. I updated my email address on the board and you should now be able to email me. I'm finally starting to go through my singles and parts to determine what to keep and what to sell. If you want just give me a call at 816-225-8300.
