Default Rusty Gas Tank

I have an 06 SV650s. The gas tank has rust inside.
I am going to take the tank off & drain it but does anyone have any suggestions for the rust inside. I don't have the money to buy a new tank.

Someone suggested sand-blasting but can u do just the inside or will it mess up the whole tank and I'll need to repaint it?

Another option I found was POR-15. Thx.

havent used that por 15 stuff but ive used the epoxy tank lining stuff which is pretty shit hot
your local bike shop should stock it
its good for rust and minor leaks .you just pour in the cleaner degreaser swish it about
tip that out then pour in your epoxy and do the same

I've used the Kreem stuff, and I didn't like it. I have some POR-15 now for my current project. I think it's a better quality product.

Default plus one on the por 15

ive used both products....por 15 is a great product but the kreem will get the job done as well . a bike i restored 2yrs ago still hasnt passed anything thru the fuel filter after using kreem....this is the same honda i had to flush the tank a few times and clean the carbs prior to the treatment....either product you choose will suffice. good luck
